MTN 1 Day Uncapped Internet Bundle Tested

It seems to be hit and miss. Yesterday I managed 7GB of software updates. Today, instantly throttled after the 150MB. Surely this is a case for Ombudsman/ICASA/Cellular Complaints Authority? To call this offering 'uncapped' is absurd. It is capped by speed i.e. downloading constantly at 128Kbit/s, one can only get ~1GB. *sigh* the fleecing continues...
I think ISPA did rule on a similar case a while ago, ruling that they can call softcapped products uncapped, but I stand to be corrected.

They probably get away with it on semantics but I don't see who would buy that bundle again after falling for it once. At 128Kbit/s, one can barely make a Skype call. Browsing the web is an entirely tedious exercise. Applications such as Gmail don't work properly etc. etc.
If I just wanted to download something, I'd rather just get the night express at R10 per 1GB.
I complained on their blog but all I got in response was lip-service.

This is a bull**** deal, I have purchased this nonsense only to find out that its only 150 MB and this should be reported as its fraud. I cannot pay R40 to browse the whole day and be told its an uncapped solution.

Some lucky souls have managed to eek out several gigs before getting throttled.

Try this on for size loaded a bundle, and got 9 months of free internet, could actually disconnect and reconnect even turn off the computer for 2 or 3 days without issue.Actually forgot to load airtime on the sim so it got deactivated last month :(

You must do the time for theft. :p
What theft :D it was prepaid and MTN screwed up not me, I even tried to load bundles during this time and nada, even reported it to the call center after the 3th day, so yeah I did my part so meh.

Besides ID won't help you, you would need the phone number, I am pretty sure MTN has deleted the records by this time already and as I mentioned the sim has been deactivated, likely assigned to some one else.

Loaded a bundle and they never cut it off, basically got 9 month of free internet, the large Gb's is the free internet between 2014-10 and 2015-06.How more simple do you want it eh?
Was is this bundle you loaded?

Apparently a 9 month bundle :D If you were going to attempt the same I would say don't bother it isn't related to a specific bundle.

Needed to do some updates today loaded a bundle and still haven't been throttled, while the speed is shyte due to mtn issues, I am still getting 2mbits.

Was is it this bundle though? Just for interests sake. And you and I both know I was always going to try my luck as well.
