Funny, don't Cell C give you the first month basically free.
Why can't MTN and Voda match that?
I got my CellC 2GB modem plus data on 5 May for R1499. The whole of May is free. My 12 month period starts only on 1 June.

The good thing about the MTN deal is you get the 21.1 modem, so it is really worth it for me.
Does having an external antenna help with higher speeds? I cannot get more than 2Mb/s indoors.
Are their any MTN reps on this site who can confirm that one can get this on a top up deal and there are no extra hidden costs. This will then improve the value of this deal (now just need to make the contract period 12 months)Okay, signed up for this now...Sales guy said I can have this on the topup option. So once my 2gb per month is reached..I can just purchase data bundles or normal prepaid airtime and top up...bit more controlled rather than having any surprises at the end of the month.
Why would you want Caller Line Identification on a data SIM?Can anybody tell me what their unbilled amount is for this 2Gb@R149 contract ? Mine says R397. I just want to know if they signed me onto the correct contract.

MTN - R149 x 24 for 2GB/m and 21.1Mb/s modem
CellC - R149 x 12 for 2GB/m and 7.2Mb/s modem
Price difference between the two modems is R1000 tops, but MTN is R1788 more expensive...
Both VC and MTN only have contract options ,which allows you to go over the @GB limmit and the they charge you hectic OOB rates and they still make money .Win Win
The OOB rates aren't too bad. 0.19c per mb isnt too bad for me. And even if you go a gig over its only R190 extra.... So u have to really have no idea of ur cap usage if u do that.
