Ayoba doesnt mean anything in any mother tongue ... its just plain stupd and they should remove the ads.
MTN just pisses me off solidly - hate that brain dead song.

It seems that most ads from MTN are geared towards the black public.
I remember that stupid ad with all those idiots clapping in Hillbrow or Town, not one white face IIRC.
I always feel like MTN does not really want white customers, dont know why I see it that way.
I found Vodacom more geared towards whites, blacks and all other races at the same time.
 
I wonder, if the situation was reversed and the ayoba was an Afrikaans word, the white person in the g-string was black and everybody else was white - well what do you think the ruling would be?

PS: MTN sucks! I would not waste any amount of money on them.
 
MTN Ayoba ads are arguably the most revolting - TV, radio, print...

Just joking, I hate most ads and feel excluded by them, anyway. Not that I'm going to slit my wrists because of it.

Going by this thread MTN should pay the creators of that Ayoba ad a bonus. It got the attention span of many! those that hate to love it and those that love to hate it. Its done it's job!

I agree. It is often the irritating ads that have the most impact, but.... when I try to log into their various websites (mtnsp, mtnmail, mtn, mymtn, mtnloaded, mtnwhatever, mtnwhereismymailbox....) I think yellow, banaba, banana republic, ayoba! That's all. :D

People must realise thats the Black people are a bigger market, according to StatsSA
There are 39,38 Million black people, and 4,55 White people, so thats about a 8:1 ratio..... do you people really think a company is going to not want to target this market? FFS people we are a minority, deal with it, the sooner you do, the sooner we can improve our situation
