MTN Black Friday Discussions

Still holding out for a tablet special :). Will be cancelling the BF sim, moving over to wisp R445 for 350gig month to month.Still quite happy with additional sim for work, more then enough data, extra data would have gone to waste.
 
R149 for 10+20 GB day +20 night seems ok. Will I be able to bolt on some minutes?

That is how I read it too. Decent deals these now - 100GB / 400 min for R549 or 90GB + 60GB night express for R299. Both are tempting

Or you could have gone cheaper?
 
I might be wrong but the way I understand it is you getting only promotional data so. The contract is called my choice 50 GB but you getting a 100 GB and it's promotional so you can't share it. Don't know can someone phone and find out?

You could be right, but the wording seems to imply otherwise. I'll tweet MTN to see if they can provide clarity

Already called in, lady didn't know about this deal, she knew the previous 10+10+10 deal. Said she'll call back.

Also was quite a wait to get through, looks like their phone lines are being hammered unsurprisingly.

I did the DM thing. A phone call always depends on which operator you get, and twitter leaves a traceable record of their answer shoudl they want to dispute later.
 
I'm on a business account and got the following offer:

50gb, 1000 mtn to MTN minutes and only 50 anytime minutes for R309 on a 12 month term contract
 
Also received my sms, honestly its to much if nothing else is better on Friday I will take the 90 gig with 60 gig for R299, I wouldn't mind 50 extra talk minutes.

Just walked to an MTN store - consultant seemed to think it was 60GB plus 60GB, but to be honest the consultant did seem a bit clueless and was referring to SMSs sent last week

Although 100GB of that is night express. But yes, still a really decent deal. Suddenly there are some decent options on the table to replace the outgoing BF deal. Now to see if VC or Telkom make a move.

EDIT: current plan
  • 30GB + 30GB MTN for R149 on dual sim. Add 50 mins for R70. One sim in router at home, one in the phone
  • Rain uncapped off-peak for R250
  • That gives me uncapped off-peak at home, 30GB peak and mobile data plus 50 mins for R470

Yeah this is more like it, decent hybrid voice + data. Hoping for a cheaper one with less data and minutes (20GB + 200 minutes will be fine). But if not then I'll probably go with this...
 
Ok lets just break this down for a min. You can get

10GB + 20GB Anytime + 20GB night for R149 .. or
30GB + 60GB Anytime + 60GB night for R299 .. or
50GB +100GB Anytime + 100GB night for R469 ..or
50GB + 50GB Anytime + 100MIN for R549 .. or
50 GB + 50GB anytime + 100MIN + 300 MIN for R549



?? @tonypony is being offered 300 more mins for the same price compared with @sand_man


or am i misreading something?
 
The guy I spoke to before upgrading last week did say I would get 100GB night express data. I just thought he was misinformed because if the leak that said it was 100GB day and 50GB night. So I don't know what's going on really. Still haven't received any night xpress data this month.
