MTN Black Friday Discussions

Telkom have some great deals currently that aren't even BF deals... like uncapped 4G for R799 or R899? I'm afraid that unless MTN offer something substantial as an upgrade I'm out and off to the next best deal.

My contract is now due for upgrade and looking at what MTN have to offer in their SMS... I won't be renewing.

Stay far away from those telkom uncapped ones- its a bit of a con - limited at 10MB

also had the call today to find out what my plans is. they could not confirm or deny if there will be similar data packages available for upgrade on black friday.
so the wait continues.

I got a call a couple of days ago. The sales rep said he'd phone back closer to black friday with details of their new offers. He inferred that there were new packages in the pipeline specifically targeting the 50gb black friday customers. Was probably just a sales pitch but we'll wait and see.

If the pricing and package could remain the same with just the data reduced to say 10gb I'd commit for another 2 years.

Agreed. But then Vodacom would probably be able to match that and if one doesn't cancel the contract in advance (for those using a single main sim) then will one be able to change to another service provider on that sim?

The transition/port is always going to be messy. I don't see how there is any way around that. Hopefully it won't be necessary.

Can it in this month to have a prepaid sim by the end of next month. (End of October)
Then one month without the 50GB. Though I'm sure other networks will try their best to still make a port possible.

Don't you have to give one months notice from the end of the 24 month period though?

So MTN share price just hit lowest since 2006, looks like they will be forced to have a good deal this year :P

They should already be offering the guys that are on those previous deals something or else they'll be losing a lot of customers. I'll be going with Telkom prepaid unless someone offers something worthwhile November.
