MTN Black Friday Discussions

So phoned normal upgrade department, told them I was a BF2016 customer.

They went back into the "customised deal" mode and offered me the three deals they previously gave me.

I asked if I could take out the R149 = 20GB per month deal, but after consulting with her manager said the deal isn't available to me.

She did say I should phone retentions and ask for their deals.

Edit: 25 minutes in the retentions queue -- so far

I went to the store with the R149 deal code and the lady upgraded me. No hassles.
I only had the R549 one as a custom offer. Nothing emailed to me

So MTN is entirely inept, have taken it a step up to see what can be done, fished around for some more emails, Bridget Bhengu and Jacqui O'sullivan which I need to check, after having checked how their emails is formulated from name and surname. There is a couple of permutations I need to test, which can be done all in one email.

I wonder if I should push it that far ? tweeted to jacqui o'sullivan, and emailed bridget, want to see what happens in that regard first, before I start testing email addresses.

Next on the list, rob shuter and godfrey motsa, I figured out by looking at their email addresses from what I have seen surname is separated by . for example rob.shuter or godfrey.motsa some times there is an under score as well, capital letters I don't think makes a difference, here. (Found the CEO's email address :D)

They likely have group email addresses as well like supportteam or support.team as well.I need to check what the mail server does with an invalid email, it will likely flag the sending email address as spam eventually so will need to setup a disposable email address or two to test it out.

I guess it's a lot of effort, but have nothing better to do today then annoy, conquer and spread evil today. Emailed the CEO.

This deal is R99 @ retentions, but R149 @ store.
 
Also called retentions on friday and yet to receive the sms. Now I don't have a reference (my bad for not asking) or even the agents name. What should I do? Wait and hope that agent calls back?
 
Is datashare only for contract to prepaid? Or can it be used contract to contract? (Choice30GB shared to MadeforMeM with voice booster). I took out 2 of the original BF2016 deals. Upgraded 1 of them to the Choice30GB (60GB + 60GB) for R299pm. Thinking of upgrading my other contract to the MadeforMeM & Voice Booster (350 mins, 3GB and 100sms), if ill be allowed to datashare off the 60GB sim

Try calling retentions and explain to them what happened on friday, Im sure they will have a reference number on ur profile

Was anybody able to dual sim their upgrade deals? I know they stopped it for the original 2016 BF deal.
Upgraded last week. Dual SIM still works. Initially lost network and I rebooted my device, and was back to normal.
 
CEO email did the trick just about every one got cc'd :p Now to see how long it takes them to fall over one another to impress boss.

I won't publicly post the email addresses but if you have tried and failed to get data allocated and have an escalation number(s) and been at least a week or more, feel free to pm me would gladly share the information. Every second guy emailing the CEO isn't going to help in the long term, so will provide information of the lower level management email addresses that were all cc'd.

While typing this the emails just keep rolling in, beautiful thing to behold :p

Why would that be the case because Datashare is a virtual service?
