If this bundle has unlimited opera mini browsing and unlimited Facebook / twitter plus 75mb of other usage data I would say it's a solid deal.

Hell just go ahead and charge me R75 for unlimited opera mini browsing plus Facebook and twitter at full speed and everything else at 256k and you would have a winner on your hands.

Yes, the voucher can only be bought at a Cell C store. It's not the 3GB bundle you buy via USSD, that one is valid for 30 days and costs R400.

I now feel quite stupid for getting excited about this "rival" BIS (take a way the I and make it BS and that would be a more acurate description) when I first heard the rumors a few months ago.

Unless MTN pulls up their socks quickly over the next few months they will be loosing a customer come upgrade time. I can't think of any provider I would be less likely to take a contract out with at this stage.

If they added unlimited access to facebook and unlimited access to opera mini has part of the Smatphone Pro package then you can argue that it's a competitor to BIS. I wonder if Places and Latitude are covered has part of the package.

this is idea was good till the stupid limits were put there. they need to rethink what BIS is. I think the marketing + product dev team needs to go on training or be fired as their comparison is stupid. When is the AA gonna kick ISP;s and teleco's with a nice fine for abusing uncapped and flat-rated with a *fair usage which makes it more expensive than current products out there

MyBB has basically republished the previous article on the topic while making no effort to answer any of the queries forumites have posted. I still don't get how this is any different to the usual R49 for 75mb data bundle. This is either the lamest rebranding of a product ever, or the press release is ambiguous. It's sad, but as others have mentioned, this really does just seem like advertising.

Guys, don't you think they mean't unlimited Internet use for R49/mth where Internet is used for browsing on the smartphone in question only? They were confusing the R49/mth with the 75MB databundle.

Or is it just wishful thinking on my part.

VERY good questions - i was thinking along the same lines - they divide the service, tell you that if you use it for anything else it will deplete the 75MB -blah blah blah -

sigh - nope mtn - bad idea to try and post an article like this on MyBB.

My guess is - MTN is still stuck with dividing the data like BB did ( ie BIS only from the phone - tethering from a pc was charged)

although - looking at the processors and capabilities of todays smart phones, i doubt there is a huge difference anymore.

I think MTN focused on releasing something with a cheaper price than BIS, but TOTALLY overlooked the functionality -
complete fail lol!

OVerall, I think that MTN can seriously take this and put it where the sun dont shine. What do you do with 75MB?!!!
We are getting use to unlimited for a few hundred a month and they are messing around with 75!
