MTN Data Share service

Yeah that one. It should be listed as available on the other sims, just enable it there (if they are on a contract, prepaid is USSD activation I think).

It's really not there. It doesn't appear in the list of services for either my SO's phone number or my data sim.
 
This is too new for MTN.
It hasn't been officially launched which means nobody there is trained (and they haven't the first clue what I'm talking about).
Looks like I'm just going to have to wait this one out until official launch

Yip. If their data pricing was better I'd switch to MTN completely instead of afrihost/axxess and then share with siblings & parents like info with ADSL account

Their pricing is actually pretty close when you look at the OneTime bundles, especially on prepaid. If you look at the new MyChoice contracts, they also have double data, but the double data is 00-06 only.
 
Same problem as the other guys. Can activate Data Share on my prepaid sim but not on my contract data sim. The option is not available.

This contract data sim is one of 4 linked numbers on my mycontract.mtn.co.za account (2 contract and 2 prepaid that were previously contract as well).

I created a separate account only linked to the contract data sim. However, when I log in, the activate or de-activate services options do not exist... None... with the combined account I could at least add other services.

So my mtn uncapped from 2013 is not a mtn sky uncapped contract I gather? Would be nice if I could share this with my other mtn phone.

True.. but my usage between 00h00 and 06h00 is close to nothing as i'm either home or getting there so not quite equal.. I also checked prices vs other bundles which came close (1GB less than Afrihost cost with Afrihost Plus <-- yah sticking with them till i see axxess prices are Extended end of month). If it was the same price i'd have canned Afrihost, switched to MTN AP(again) and share with family.. but ugh i'll see what happens

PS. I'm going to use this merely to allow my iPad data from freebie cell bundle(it rolls over for 3 months) i get for location services you know.. so i can find it :D. Since i always have iPhone with me, having a separate bundle -just- for iPad is a complete waste and this solution suits me fine.

MTN Customer Care still beyond useless - they're giving out the instructions to activate MTN Data Share for MTN Nigeria. And they remain adamant that they're correct even after it's been pointed out.
Sigh...

Yeah you got people working in companies that just do it to earn money. They have no real interest in the job they do. That said I am not a MTN employee and I know how to activate it how to manage the linked numbers and how it work but the service was not even officially launched yet.... Yet when I apply for a job the said network my I don't get the job and they hire a person that does nothing.....

Any idea how to activate the service on a sim card that isn't the primary account?

Yeah, or any other means. I can only activate on my primary contract. Not on my secondary or data contracts

Maybe you can pm MTN Data and ask him/her if he can add the service for you? He works for MTN and have access to that so maybe he can just load the service for you.
 
So how is it possible that I'm not able to load DataShare on my Data Contract? Only on voice contract. Or that is what the consultant told me when I phoned 808.

Isn't that the whole idea of DataShare?? To share your Data???
