So how is it possible that I'm not able to load DataShare on my Data Contract? Only on voice contract. Or that is what the consultant told me when I phoned 808.

Isn't that the whole idea of DataShare?? To share your Data???

On phone call/email number #40 I got the correct answer.
They haven't enabled it for data sims, and they're apparently busy doing it.

This whole week I've been getting the error message:

Rediculous I tell you. MTN Failed again. I'll just share my Data via Wifi then. Only problem is that I have to carry both my phones with me. I've been doing it for a couple of years so it's not a big issue.

Just a pity MTN can't get it right. I knew this was too good to be true.

It depends on the 'type' of data contract/bundle.. Kinda why I'm not renewing some data sims (it costs less to let contract end than cancel hahah).

+1 I always have a mifi router wherever I go, a real life saver that thing. But I only used the Huawei one's up till now, I guess a cheap fongkong one might have weaker signal.

Battery life 4 to 6 hours and price range R400 to R700. Huawei mifi the way to go in my opinion.

I saw a battery pack with built-in wifi router somewhere a while ago.

Anyone knows anything about those?

It's there, it's called DSHARE or something. It isn't an obvious name. I enabled mine there after I first read the post here.
Just search for SHARE under the available services and you'll find it.

It's quite obvious now (once you go to MTN Active)

I still think it's rediculous that they exclude some data contracts from being able to use DataShare. I have such a nice Data Contract but I hate carrying my Note 3 "Hotspot" with me everywhere I go.

I can only see that on one of my contracts (not even my second cell phone account which is same as the first)

At last my Data contract is setup for DataShare. Thanks so much Dr Data. Now I can leave my hotspot at home. lol.
