iv recently started using use data sharing so i don't have to hotspot my phone, i am having constantly repair devices because iv walked out the office with my phone to make or receive a call - its a pain.
I get and share 3 gb on my contract and extra 20 gb promotional that is not share able, after i ran out of shareable data i decided last night to top up purchase data - i still had 19GB of promo data and was only buying data for the router.
If i bought data on the routers sim card i paid top dollar because its a prepaid sim, after looking at what was on offer i decided to see what was on offer for me.
i logged onto my app and i saw promotional data, i knew this would not work, i had the option of buying 30gb data but then i would need to wait 2-3 days for a new sim. i looked at my top up options and i had a top up option of 20gb anytime data and 20 gb night time - not promotional, standard top up but online only and to be paid with bank card. i paid R200 and valid for 30 days.
after activating it, it said i still had 0 shareable data, i had 0 contract data 20gb paid data, 18gb promo data and 20gb night time data.
i called MTN to log a complaint as i bought this data to share and it had no indication of it being promo data or that it was non shareable, i said to them is paid for data and i should be able to share it or send to another number and there response is that " at that price u should know its promo data.
