I phoned mtn today to ask about this special after phoning three different numbers to get the right person who could help me he said that I would have to go into a mtnsp shop to get hold of the special. Going into Karaglen mtnsp shop I was disappointed to hear that these specials only apply to business contracts and that no one from the public would be allowed to get this special.

MTN used 2 hours of my time today and still I am sitting with nothing to show.
Great stuff! Mtn try keeping your customers after September!!!!!

Um no it's a Mycall 100 package a consumer package.

Could you please supply me the name of the MTNSP store and the person you spoke to cause that's bull..........

Just to let you all know I applied today, and yes the R75 topop (pay in R139) and the call 100 @ R49 (incl all cost)

I'll go in tomorrow to get my card, but they said NO headset OR antenna is included.

@MTN - Will I be able to get the headset afterwards from them? free?

You should get the earpiece for free from the dealer or service centre you're buying it from if they don't have one then tell them to contact Midrand warehouse and get some ordered........

Donno if you can help out with this, but How long does it takes to approve a contract.

I don't think 2 days.
a competitor takes about 5 minutes for its approvals.

otherwise the shop is taking me for a ride. (cause I told them I'm not applying if they don't have stock, so they said they have 1 for me, I hope they not delaying my application due to waiting for stock)

I'm interested in ProData Contract the one with Fastlink E620 Data Card (@ R9.99) but i wanna find out if it comes locked to MTN or i can use any network if i choose to.

I'm not sure of the current vetting procedure I'm not sure if it should take 2 day's.......... But I'll find out for you about that.....

What I can maybe suggest is that you PM me your number and I can try and escalate this to MTNSP'S vetting department and we can see what the holdup is..............

The contract with the ProData contract you don't get the F@stlink E620.

With the ProData contract there's a once off payment of R1,249 for the F@stlink USB Modem which features Edge and GPRS.

Once off sim and connection fee of R236,80

The other special is the F@stlink E620 which is on the MYCALL 100 @R49 a month for 24 months Once off connection fee of R236,80

Here is a reply from Vetting

Hi MTNDD

It depends on downtime. Online was down for more than a day last week and this put us in backlog. The dealers were advised and are aware of this.
Normally online vets are done same day.

Manual vets take longer.

Add sims are always same day, usually under an hour.

I hope this gives some indication.

If you can give me the store location and the applicant’s I.D. number, I can check for you.

I did send you a pm with the details.
although a day or 2 won't make a difference now, since it is already late, It is just that with the other SP, 5 minutes was all it takes. and that was 3 years ago. IT must have changed so that it should be instant now.

Thanks for that info, just as I thought ,:mad: the dealer was the culprit.
They must be glad I'm currently away on business.

Ok, I called THEM. And as soon as I said who I was, the guy said they were just getting ready to call me ... bla bla bla. I can get my card (Well done)

So I asked them re: headset.. "what headset" , "a headset" "oh ok "

he did not have a clue what I was talking about, and after explaining, he said, he will call me back NOW....

and yes you guessed right, I'm still waiting.

Please note: I'm not complaining about MTN as such, (a year ago a guy at vodashop was asking me what is 3G. lol.), it is the customer service that is terrible at the dealers.

I will see if the guy will call me back. keep thumbs up !!!:rolleyes:
