Hey guys,

I've got a E1820 which gets detected by my notebook and installs the dashboard, but for some reason it does not detect the device? I.e. when the dashboard is running it says no device detected yet it installed the firmware from it?

Any ideas how to go about fixing it?

Also, why doesn't MTN's size have any firmware / software for this device?

Thanks!

Ahaa! Got it to work... Now question 2: When I insert it into my DIR-451, it connects for roughly a minute, then disconnects and is unable to reconnect. Only when I restart the router does it connect for another minute.

Help?

Might be a coverage problem. Had similar issue with Vodacom usb connected to Mikrotik router. Connected to 3G with blue light burning solid. Disconnected for no reason and the usb stick shows it seeing the 3G but did not connect. Only after a router reset did it connect. Eventually replaced with a Billion with embedded 3G and no problems so far.

Hmmm It seems that a router replacement is imminent...

But I won't be able to test that now. Reached my very lean 2GB cap last nite. Got my SMSses this morning. Darn it. I hate not being able to get normal uncapped ADSL at home.
