MTN G1 versus Vodacom G2

Overcharged for 3G usage VODACOM

Last year I happily paid Vodacom under R500 per month for internet usage and i had a fulltime PRESS career where i downloaded lots of data.
Now that I'm a housewife and use the internet to browse lazily - I even stop everything over 500 kb at the source so that it doesn't download.
I have become a nervous wrek. Since December my costs have sky-rocketed to R4000-00 per month.
Something is DRASTICALLY wrong and Vodacom is unable to tell me exactly what i downloaded that spiralled the costs out of control. The feeble itemised bill (which i had to pay for) simply stated times and charges. mean't didley squat to me.
Since they simply take the money from a debit order i seem to be completely stuck. WHO can afford R8000 for NOTHING over 2 months. They insist that it's correct. HAS ANYBODY ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS? WHY CAN'T THEY TELL ME WHAT I DOWNLOADED AT ALL? I FEEL LIKE I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF A HORROR MOVIE.
Is there any possibility that my data is being accessed illegally by someone else? AND how do I remedy this NIGHTMARE. They've washed their hands of me. Even went to Hellopeter but nothing's working. I feel done in and they're bancrupting me. I did NOTHING to raise those charges as G-d is my very witness.
HELP ME SOMEONE. For that kind of money I can drive a top of the range car.

Oh - Guesstimate Comparison, price wise.

MTN - R529 = R350 (airtime) + R80 (100MB) + R99 (phone).
R350 is enough for 175 minutes talktime on MTN.

Vodacom - R599 = R315 (airtime) + R189 (250MB) + R95 (Phone)
120 minutes airtime
100 SMSes
250 MB of data

Prepaid R 8269.00 (RRP)

For that price I can go out & buy a pretty nice laptop or Netbook..
Who thinks up the pricing structure on these phones?
 
I'd still like to see an offer where data & sms's are not shoved down our throats.
As it stands, you can subscribe to data or sms bundle on any contract so why force it on us with these contracts?
 
I have a dream ... a Sony Ericsson P1i, and I'm perfectly happy using it. Handwriting recognition makes data entry simple & quick and with all the extra business-type features its great not having a Micro$oft hand in this pie.
 
I'm no HTC fan, but this Magic is fantastic! Really amazing phone. it's just a pity that we don't have the Android Market yet (vodacom say it's coming in the next few months) because the local Leaf market is really crap.
 
... I got my Magic on a weekender+ (I hardly make any calls) and paid in R2999 for the phone.

In my opinion, it beats the iPhone - especially when the Android market becomes available here.
 
I have always supported Vodacom, and they have given me excellent service over the years on my multiple contracts and data services.

Also, MTN's Dream is just that, a Dream. :)
