MTN International Problems

International access comes and goes !! This is not a customer problem but a network issue!!!

Got to Speedtest.net 98kbps to London!!!

Its still slow today, works perfectly with a Vodacom sim and my local connection is fine so I don't see how it could be a problem on my side. Using internet apn.

How is it possible to be something on the customer side???

Nothing has changed on my side over the last year, only now I have a problem with international sites.
It takes me 5+ Minutes to open Gmail or any other international sites.. Its so slow I get a time out error with any speed test.

Gamco Speed test 121.70kbps
I'm still waiting for speedtest.net to open!

Everybody is bitching about the Telkom international bandwidth that is slow.

If MTN is using the Telkom international link( I guess they do) then that will explain the problem you are having.

Welcome to Africa

and Telkom who monoplizes the whole bloody industry.

If you have your own leased circuits though they shouldn't suffer the same degradation as general SAIX traffic should they? I mean MTNNS capacity should be separate from the SAIX network even if they both use SAT3.

I'm not sure I must be honest

Uhmmmm, worked there for a while, but is now dead again.

Problem still exist, cont open a single international site…
MTN please look into this…

I experienced slow (as in practically non-existent) international bandwidth around 16:00 on Friday afternoon. Local sites were fine. Fortunately the problem quickly disappeared, as the next time I connected, around 18:00, it was fine again.

I'm trying to access international sites and I get 0 kb/s on full HSDPA. Local sites work like a charm. I could not even load Google search page properly! This is the second weekend in a row that I have had zero international bandwidth at times. What seems to be the problem. I wat surfing fine 2 hours ago and now there is nothing!

It seems to be ok for me now, though there were times yesterday when Google was literally timing out. Lets hope its sorted now though.
