MTN launches data bundle auto-renewal feature

You should no longer have ANY OOB unless you specifically opted for such an option. Regardless of the network, and Bundles should no longer expire. Or am I missing something?
Maybe we all set our max to 1mb bundle per month and it renews automatically every month. So 40c a month is not bad.

Yeah wtf...

If you must use MTN I suggest using dual sim via Axxess or some other ISP selling MTN prepaid bundles. At least you wont be forced into auto renewals that way.

I use Vodacom primary + MTN secondary(data only) , MTN data work out cheaper but occasionally need to use Vodacom cause MTN signal just have random blackout areas that Vodacom covers no problem.

I have no choice maybe I am cursed or my phone just don't like other networks but Vodacom data for backup usage (at a cost) never have any full signal issue whereas with MTN the places I travel I would expect to have great coverage in Cape Town dies out within the exact same places each time I am there so unless I am not aware of some secret tower jammers installed in these locations it must be MTN coverage simply missing these areas.

(PE) coverage between the 2 are mostly the same

Unfortunately I don't have duel Sim phone.

There is 3 x 2KM odd areas on the N1 into Cape Town where MTN data lose signal completely in the exact same area of the N1 no matter time of day. Those areas seems to be quite literally not covered by MTN. It gets even worse with MTN in certain parts of Town where there is limited or no signal yet again.

I have yet to get a single instance of Vodacom failing on any speed or signal issue in Cape Town so for now it is what it is I guess.

I'm on the MTN APN.

I change my out-of-bundle settings by dial *135*6# previously. I check now and it still states " Right now, your airtime is not use when your Data bundlw runs out."

I on a MTN contract thought.

Hmm either the original myBB article were updated or everyone in here freaked out for no reason.

"
This will be charged from their prepaid airtime balance, or their contract usage limits.

To use this feature, customers must select the auto-renew option when purchasing their bundle.

"

From the myBB article it states this option needs to be enabled when they buy the bundle, does not seem to be enabled by default. It is however kinda silly that it seems to be locked to the bundle purchase but if anyone want to avoid this just dont select auto-renew when you purchase your bundle should solve it.

Now we know why they have continued legal battles. Unethical mtn needs to see their arse.
