Hi guys,

I have an HTC Hero running Android 2.1. I am using Cyanogen's APN list, and have confirmed my settings with a work colleague's G1 + Cyanogen ROM + MTN (they are identical). I have called 1555 and asked them to provision me for MMS, and I have dialled *123*12# and provisioned myself. The first SMS says that it cannot set the settings for me (presumably because their system doesn't recognise my phone), but the 2nd SMS says "Welcome to MTN MMS, blah blah blah."

HOWEVER, I cannot send or receive MMSes! When I try send one out, it just sits in the outbox, retrying forever. If someone sends me an MMS, I see the msg in my inbox, but the content doesn't pull through. There's a "Download" button on the message, but that fails when I try click it.

So to sum up:
* My APN settings are correct, of this I am 100% sure. A work colleague with the same settings has no problems whatsoever.
* I have been provisioned for MMS by MTN (supposedly anyway)
* Cannot send/receive MMSes

Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Have you tried sending/receiving mms with your sim with another phone?

If that works, the only other thing I can tell you is to check the settings on your phone:

There should ony be 2 apns, 1 for internet and 1 for mms. The one for internet must have "default" written by type and the one for mms must have "mms" by its type. Even if the one for mms is already set properly but the internet one's type is not "default" it still wont work.

Thanks for the reply, stevovo... I have tried setting the "type" as you suggested, but it doesn't appear to make any difference. Also, its worth noting that my colleague's G1 is not set as such, yet he can send/receive.

Excellent idea about trying my sim in another phone! I'll give that a shot and post back here.
