It wasn't rpm, and your thread was never deleted - go have a look in MBB's MTN forum which is where I moved it to - there were several reply posts after I moved it there.

Im in Cape Town, but end of last year the same sort of thing happned here, but then the entire network in the Cape Town region seemed to go down, nothing on MTN worked.

....and i STILL have GPRS/3G connectivity problems,
