Hey guys,

So the MTN network is supposed to move over to open access next month but I haven't managed to find any info about which ISPs will be offering packages on the network. Has anyone heard anything as of yet?

We are busy finalising things with them.

@PBCool - That's great news, I've only ever heard good things about Cool Ideas. Hopefully I'll be one of your new clients soon enough.

Seriously even MTN is going open? haha sorry but suck it Voda (have to vent due to recent events)

Yeap is ridiculous from Vodacom, we've had capacity to their DC for nearly 8 months in preparation to offer services on their network.

Any idea when this will be complete? I have an MTN fibre point just outside my garden gate in my complex

Apparently they're going open access next month. I'm not sure which day specifically, I haven't managed to find any updates. So we'll see on the 1st if there's anything new.

We've signed the MSAs and sent all the respective docs through to them, so we should be able to trial some houses soon hopefully, generally speaking take what MTN say and add 2 or 3 months though.

Well that makes me quite sad, but I guess it'll come around some day. Please choose my house! :D

Still not a squeak from anyone

Lack of service and accountability pisses me off in this country. If one makes a public announcement , follow through.

VOX CEO said new packages based on lower IPC costs would be announced or they would have news by middle of august. Still nothing from them. Logged a support call. Nobody knows anything. Azzholls the bunch of them.

Yeah it seems we'll be waiting a while for this. I think the announcement was more of a PR stunt to get the MTN fibre name out there as to actually doing what they said they would do.

No further movement from MTN, we keep following up with no further response.

Ja they terrible with keeping their website updated ! Getting any sort of info out of them... goodluck :(

I emailed MTN regarding the matter a week ago, I was told they will forward my mail to a person who will be able to give me information. I haven't heard anything yet. So I think PBCool was right with saying "add 2 or 3 months"...
