Hi

Does anyone know how I can get some discount on my Out Of Data Bundle charges.

MTN thought they did me a favor by giving me 30GB LTE data for free. I exceeded this by 7Gb and now sit with a R5000.00 bill.

Thanks

So they gave you 30GB for FREE, you then took the hand and continued to take the arm. Now you want a discount because you are a greedy, entitled ****?

Seems logical to me.

The problem is not being charged. It's that a 10Gb bundles cost less than R1k, why should pay R5k?

Those were the rates you used the data at.

You can buy 1GB at varied prices @ MTN. R65, R85, R160. Even R10.

Or @ R2/MB.

You agreed to the OOB charges when you signed the contract. If you were oblivious that's your baby.

You did NOT buy a data bundle. You used data at OOB rates. How is it MTN's fault you are unable to control your usage or buy data as needed?
Good observation on me NOT buying a data bundle.

You clearly think it is reasonable to sell OOB data at 5 times (and more) the price of a data bundle. This is exactly why I don't use MTN data. Afrihost offers OOB @ 10c. How can MTN charge 10 times that?

Good for you if you think OOB rates is fair. Hopefully the same doesn't happen to you.

Consider your next comment rhetorical. L8r

It's their prerogative what they charge. You used service at their rates. Need to pay.

This sort of thing happens to non-technical folks, because they don't know any better. After the topic has been discussed to death, yet another Mybb forumite bitten by the OOB shark. How many seconds does it take to check your account balance? If you're on Android, there are a couple steps needed to check the amount of data you've used during a certain amount of time. There are apps that monitor your data usage and warn you once you've reached a certain percentage - the one I tested can even disable your mobile internet connection/activities once you get to 100% or a value of your choice. So many options... Pay them the R5k.

You cannot purchase an apple at pick n pay, eat it, only to later complain that the price is not reasonable because checkers sells them for way less.

Of course R2 OOB is expensive - whether or not it is reasonable is a matter for another discussion. Unless MTN incorrectly billed you or induced you into OOB charge-rate unfairly, you have actually little to complain about. School fees I'm afraid.

Thanks for warning, I also received the 30gb free and am on the verge of using it all. Now I know.
