I have a Pro Call 220 contract with MTN which is currently on month2month as the main contract duration ended in April 2008. Is it possible to port this contract to MTN Prepaid? I dont want another long term contract until the proposed Consumer Protection Bill is enacted into legislation. I also do not want to port to Vodacom or Cell-C

I have been with MTN for many years and would like to amongst other things keep my number and enjoy the data coverage.

Moreover, does a Topup subscriber benefit from the discounts on MTN Zone?

As I understand, yes you can port your number to prepaid, and no, I don't think Topup subscribers benefit from MTN Zone

According to MTN, one is not allowed to port from contract to prepaid. If you want out of your contract you lose your number, despite their number for life promise.

Talk about double standards!

port to vodacom prepay (tell them to **** off) then back to mtn prepay - they like money more than you think.
