Oops and nowhere near 8.ta R199 for 10G, and DSL 9 Gig promotional up 20 Gig + 30 gig local for R229

Go MTN but let's have a pre-paid option like Cell C. I'd consider forking out for a year or two up front... when my prepaid Cell C runs out ;)

Wouldn't even consider after reading about the fair usage. Was really interested until that popped up. I regularly made use of the 1-day Internet for R50..sometimes the 150 mb fair usage didn't kick in...then it's worth R50 (all 18gb). If it kicks in I feel I've just wasted money. The 128 kbps feels like 28.8kbps. Don"t waste your time.

MTN did state they are seeing the effect of uncapped on there network and how it will cope. I think it would be business suicide to give uncapped and then back to 2GB capped after 4 months and even the most stupid of MTN directors would realize that, they know it would give them the worst name in the industry. The chances are they are testing the capacity. Maybe they will come back with extremely large caps 150GB and larger which is what is needed. What is the point of all these streets being dug up and fibre going in if we are to have 3GB caps forever. These mobile operators are sick and tired of the telkom attitude and are about to launch something big, maybe waiting for WACS to kick in. I would dump telkom in a second for decent speed/stable Internet at an affordable price.

I started a month after Mweb launched there uncapped offering and have gradually increased my downloading every month (accept December) since, from 54GB the first month to 177GB last month. I do all my business on the Internet upload my important documents and backups to dropbox , watch the rugby world cup live, have dumped DSTV and watch all my tv series/movies when I want to watch them and watch the current top series from around the world. When you realize how powerful and useful the net really is, you will then realize why caps of a 150GB plus are required. You guys out there who think 10GB is plenty, you really have no clue to what the Internet is all about, you are Telkom thinkers and we all know were that company is heading the way they are currently thinking. The country needs a mobile company that has balls, maybe MTN will be the new broadband heroes, who else is testing for large volume downloads?
 
Everyone loves to complain, because here they thought 'Awesome, I can leech all my favourite movies and series at super fast speeds.....oh ****, wait, didn't see the fine print about the throttling.'
