MTN promised 3G upgrade on tower outside Grahamstown, 2 months ago by Shelto Roman in Port Elizabeth.
Nothing has been activated
Also mentioned a new tower supposed to be put up on or near Farm Ely near Glenmore. I can not see it.

World class internet via LTE BUT only if you have a contract.... Just does not make sense. Why prevent prepaid customers from using your LTE network but sell LTE phones on prepaid???

I live in the Pretoria North side my ping avg: 110ms, 1.33mbps dw and 0.49mbps upload.

Sadly LTE is not available for prepaid customers. So even if you have LTE coverage you con't use it if you are prepaid. It sucks cause why would they keep it for contract customers.

Speeds are great though, coming from Cell C, average between 8-11mbit down and 1-2up around CPT.

Well about 4km from the tower so very far from it but still get a decent LTE speedtest. I have to foce it to LTE only mode cause the signal is weak. If I pass the tower the speedtest is 26Mbps but now at my house its just too weak but serves as great backup signal for gaming.
