I didn't complain about the speed since I knew it would get sorted out.
I was well suprised when my speeds were allot higher than normal.
Ping: 64ms
Download: 4.37 mbps
Upload: 2.68 mbps

I doubt it will stay this way so I will enjoy it for now.
Mtn if you do throttle again I was happy with the 384kbps and even the few weeks I had my line throttled to +-750kbps was awesome so if you decide to throttle show some mercy and make the speeds bareable and not frustrating. I don't download 24/7 I just download updates for games every now and again and play games online on weekends.

Just checked how much bandwith I have used for the month I haven't even used 1gb lol

Almost all of the bandwidth I use go towards my gaming hobby, game and system updates, online gaming as well as full digital version game downloads which I purchase on PlayStation Store and Xbox Live. I'm a PlayStation Plus member so each month I download at least 2 to 3 games which varies in size and weighs in at anything from 3GB to 12GB (sometimes more) per game. So I use at least 20GB of bandwidth per month and because of that, I just had to get uncapped internet and MTN Uncapped Lite and Pro is the only mobile uncapped internet packages that I know of.

Come to think of it, why do you guys think that Vodacom, Cell C and 8ta doesn't offer an uncapped package such as this?

It will probable be a while before the speeds are back to normal. Just glad mine is sorted so that I can work. Doesn't help complaining about the 256kbps, because that is our fair use policy speed, but the 750+ speeds we had a while ago, that I will really miss :)

just did a speed test again and now my speed dropped again to what seems to be what it looked like before this whole fiasco with mtn

latency-150ms
download-810kbps
upload-310kbps

I normally get my 3 gb cap on the 20th of every month.
last month my average usage was 8gb.I downloaded 4gb today on a update for borderlands 2 and a black mesa and my speeds remain pretty much the same. between 80KBps and 90KBps

My speed is also improved.
Download is at about 2.5mbps
Upload at 1.4 mbps
and ping averaging 75ms.
The best thing is that my cap is only renewing on the 20th. Please let this problem we've been having be fixed at last.

Late yesterday afternoon my speed were EXTREMELY bad, I had to try several times to get a speed test done and my download speed were around 20kbps, yes, very slow and my latency were also very high, around 800ms.

This morning when I checked again it was VERY fast, around 650KB/s. I'm obviously on my 3GB cap again which I'm supposed to get on the 12th of every month.

I just HOPE that when I get throttled again I don't get the speed I got yesterday afternoon!!!!!

Ek het gister mos my speedtest gepost wat so goed was, vanoggend weer amper niks. Hoop joune lyk beter.:)

Hier's my huidige internasionale spoed:

Download Speed: 4202 kbps (525.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 734 kbps (91.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 263 ms

Jy is 'n regte early bird! :D

Sweet!!! Het jy toe jou cap gekry?

Ja-nee, ek's verseker 'n early bird. Mal oor die "small hours".

Ja, dit lyk of ek my cap gekry het, want my spoed is die afgelope 24 uur baie goed.

I'm still waiting for the person assigned to my issue to phone me back from the coverage dept.
Been waiting and phoning them 2 days in a row now.

I need to do some work in the evenings and have been unable to do so since this k@k started.
I was told by the retention dept that only the coverage dept can give them a letter so they can cancel the contract.

kolaval, so they can actually cancel the contract? How did you go about it and what cancellation fees are we talking here? I'm no longer willing to pay R319 a month for only 3GB. I mean it's now absolutely useless after that. I can get more data for cheaper elsewhere.

I was phoning their coverage dept every day to report that the speed was still crap.
eventually I told the 1555 person i'm not doing it anymore and they put me through to the retention department.
they told me you cannot just cancel it without paying the cancellation fees.
But if the coverage department can give them a letter stating that you have no signal or something, then they can change it.

Now I have had this support issue open since 24 January.
Since then nothing has been resolved.
I am done with MTN.
I was on icasa's website and I'm trying to follow that procedure to be able to log a compliant

Idiote!

Kolaval, please let us know if you find out more. It can't go on like this. I thing i'm going to email my speed test to the coverage team as well. Wonder what that will accomplish? Probably nothing.
