Our complaints have gotten us from a 3rd of the throttle speed to 2 thirds. We should carry on harrying them untill we get the full 384K.
My contract finishes in a few months. MTN has convinced me that I am not valued as a client so I will take my business elsewhere.
...and I will also advise everyone I know never to sign anything with MTN.

Today I went and purchased a Cell C sim card (R1), loaded it with 300MB (R45), inserted it into my router and:

South African:

Test conducted on 12 February 2013 12:11:16 PM

Download Speed: 12282 kbps (1535.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 2148 kbps (268.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 74 ms

International:

Test conducted on 12 February 2013 12:14:14 PM

Download Speed: 6842 kbps (855.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 2105 kbps (263.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 241 ms

How's that for great speed!!!

Just a quick question...weet jy hoekom mens se download spoed altyd hoer is as jou speed test? Byvoorbeeld as jy 'n program download, se maar google chrome en jou spoed hardloop 1.2mb maar jou speedtest se 200kbps?

I was pleasantly surprised when I got home today.
Did a speedtest a moment ago:
Ping: 74ms
Download: 2.67 mbps
Upload: 1.69 mbps

I didn't complain about the speed since I knew it would get sorted out.
I was well suprised when my speeds were allot higher than normal.
Ping: 64ms
Download: 4.37 mbps
Upload: 2.68 mbps

I doubt it will stay this way so I will enjoy it for now.
Mtn if you do throttle again I was happy with the 384kbps and even the few weeks I had my line throttled to +-750kbps was awesome so if you decide to throttle show some mercy and make the speeds bareable and not frustrating. I don't download 24/7 I just download updates for games every now and again and play games online on weekends.

Just checked how much bandwith I have used for the month I haven't even used 1gb lol

Your speed is up because you are under your allowed 3 GB. Just wait untill thats finished.
My speed was great yesterday untill my power tripped for some reason. When I booted up my speed was back down to 256k
