About 2 months ago I upgraded to an LG G4. At the time I was told that the deal includes a 32Gb memory card. I can come in next week and collect the card.

I go back next week - sorry, they don't have any. Please come back next week. I go back the next week - sorry, they are still waiting for stock, they will phone me when it arrives.

So I left it for about 2 weeks. We were in the vicinity so I just popped into the store for an update. "Sorry sir, you are not eligible for a memory card, they were just for the early adopters. But you can buy one for R300", I'm told. I ask to speak to the manager and she again assures me that I will get the memory card. She will phone me as soon as stock arrives.

I waited for another two weeks and again popped into the store, just to be told: "Sorry, we don't have them yet. We will phone you........"

So it's been about another 2 weeks now and being rather fed up with all of this I decide to try and complain to MTN...........BIG mistake!

I phoned 083 1808 and explained the whole story......."please hold"..........I hold for about 5 min.
Suddenly I'm back at the switchboard. I explain that i would like to lodge a complaint......."oh sorry, please phone: 011 912 3000"

So I phone the new number. I again explain that I want to lodge a complaint. "Oh sorry, please phone 011 808 9001".......

So I phone the new number. I again explain that I would like to lodge a complaint. Now I'm told "Sorry, you can only complain via e-mail at [email protected]" The lady is however nice enough to listen to my problem and since it was an upgrade she says I must phone 083 1233, since they work with upgrades.

So I phone the new number. I explain the whole story to the guy. "Sorry sir, we can't help since each branch has their own stock....bla.....bla.....bla".

Ok, so there you have it. 50 minutes out of my life and I am still no closer to getting my memory card.

I really don't mind waiting but what I hate is not getting any feedback. So they are still waiting for stock (2 months?? really???), just send me a weekly update so I know you haven't forgotten about me.

False advertising? Complain to ASASA and get a refund. If you still have the add somewhere.

Their staff sound highly incompetent at dealing with a query. What's sad is some companies get ruined by the economy; other just seem to rot from the inside.

I have tried since porting last week Monday, to get hold of someone on 173 or 808, impossible. After try for maybe a half hour it tells me I've exceeded my free minutes to speak to a consultant and should phone another mtn number are normal rates! Pathetic.

MTN doesn't care about customers, they only care about their bottom line. This is the reason I'm finishing with them this week still. I tried to stop my contract which was a few days over 24 months and went to The Grove and spoke to Patrick. He doesn't care about customers, and according to him I don't have a contract with MTN. He then suggested I phone MTN Monday and sort it out with them. This is probably because he won't be writing a new deal and the shop was full of potential new contract clients.

They can go bankrupt for all I care, their service sucks and that's a fact.

I've been emailing them to and fro for the past two weeks about a free 1GB data bundle that I have not received after buying a 1GB promo - after asking me a thousand questions, which I emailed back every time, they told me to call 808, which I told them I'm not prepared to do - heard nothing rom them since
I really, really need to port my number - MTN is an instantaneous PIA

Hi Ecco,

Yes I am.

have any of you guys had your problem resolved?

I PM'd Y'ello Crew on 19 Oct and am still waiting.............

Yellow crew!
Please assist me in activating my caller id! When I call someone it says 'private number' and I have been unsuccessful in getting hold of anyone by dialing 808 or 173 (28 days no luck)! Did you guys kill all the call centre operators??

Have you checked your phone settings? I know there is an option to turn this on and off
