Anyone with fibre (FTTH) updates in Muizenberg area? I have been trying to get answers from Octotel but their communication is not so great.
 
Got this reply in JAN 2018

Unfortunately we cannot with certainty at the moment when we will construct our network in Muizenberg. The possible roll out is still in the planning phases. We will update our website and social media pages as soon as planning in at an advanced stage and the necessary permits have been applied for. Our sincere apologies for not being able to give you a definite timeline at the moment.

I dont see any trenching happening before year end - they have not even done Kirstenhof yet - still busy in Retreat.....
 
Trenching

Muizenberg area (Costa Da Gama) side, there has been a bit of trenching since last week... I am sure this time it's fibre!

I've spoken to both RSAWEB & Octotel and am trying to get some feedback for you - something or anything - give me a bit.

It's really sad, apartments near me do have SADV fibre (Victoria Close). Thanks again for the update!
 
Hey anyone else have fibre updates on muizenberg? i kmnow its planned but it has been planned for quite some times now? Muizenberg area costa da gama?

Hi, I spoke to someone from @Octotel (u can join the Octotel Southern Peninsula Fibre group on Facebook), s/he said trenching might begin next year around March.

AAAh thanks man, do you think its worth it getting LTE for now? i game alot and my adsl has been pathetic. :(

I am currently using @CellC LTE (through @webafrica) and if I say the speed is pathetic, it would be an understatement :)
Please DO NOT go the LTE way, it's a waste of money! I rarely get speed above 1mbps, I am on a 100gig plan.
