Yup.

There's probably loads of people without fast internet who don't really care to upgrade their internet or sign up to netflix etc. They just want a decent & affordable entertainment service. Dstv can cry all they want about digital destroying them, but a large chunk of their loss is probably due to their archaic pricing structure driving most people away. Be interesting to see how many of their lost subscribers over the last 5 years have been due to a migration to greener digital pastures or just because dstv are no longer affordable.

We dropped down from premium because the extra content was not worth the extra.

I find that most of the channels are unwatchable (for me: that is not to my taste). A subscription model where I paid only for the channels I wanted could attract me - at the right price.

Subsidising a well known family was a bad business mistake.

I suspect that my proposal could make DSTV more attractive to advertisers, provided DSTV pitched their advertising charges towards the level of exposure to be obtained. They might conceivably increase advertising revenue.

You can do that, you create a channel list and just place the channels you want in it.
I normally just watch catch-up or recordings.

Yes, I pruned my channel list. It has less than 12. Which means that all the others are a waste for me.
