MultiChoice denies SD content on HD channel

Bravo for the article ........ DSTV can deny all they like, the difference is sometimes glaringly obvious even to the 'normal' viewers eye. The forums with all the picture quality complaints is proof enough that they are talking rubbish because the issue is now in the public eye.
 
jeez, seems like they are trying to hide it, and when they get "caught" they'll say.... "OK,OK you've caught us, some stuff go in SD"

we should be on a mission to point out the "ethical" companies in SA [since it seems to be the exception to the rule]

so why don't you get discount because some "HD" content was screened as "SD"
 
This country has become a shocking place to live, companies are trying their very best to screw the public out of any money they have. There is no accountability anymore.

They see the gvt getting away with murder and they think it is now their right to do the same.
In the end their will be nothing more to take.

Seriously, what is it with some companies that rather than correct and apologise they deny and blunder forth? Do they think consumers are all that stupid???
 
I can confess to this as well, Last weeks Burn Notice was definitely broadcasted in SD. I was in a real fit and my wife actually had to calm me down as I was so upset by the whole thing!

She also did not notice at first but I then referred to a previous episode that we kept from the week before and she also realized what they were doing.

The fact that they are denying that fact just shows you the extent of their arrogance!!!

The only thing that could possibly be happening is that the signal is degraded by HDCP. HDCP encrypts the Visuals and sound on the Signal, Decoder and towards the TV. If the decoder fails to decrypt the signal correctly then DHCP will automatically reduce the picture quality.

But let me not make excuses for them that they could use.

I love the way corporates generally think their customers are a bunch of idiots who know nothing and just eat up their spin like sweets.

WAKE UP DSTV! We have PhD's in things you didnt even know exist, and now you want to defend the fact that you made a mistake by marketing HD when its actually upper SD... (Not to mention chopping 2Mbps off your HD signal to make some space for god knows what)... I cant wait for the new consumer law coming next year... then well see who can market poo as popcorn without getting slapped.

In actual fact... I think if you had to pipe a 20Mbps FULL (1080) HD stream to our dishes those "HD" decoders of yours would smoulder and blow up. :D
 
I really pity those that spent a small fortune on that piece of junk hd decoder and the expensive installation.
This is totally unacceptable and i hope heads roll for this!
 
I don't understand why they're denying it because they acknowledged this many times on the DSTV forum. They used the excuse that the tapes didn't arrive in time quite often.

Here we increase the bonus, we never roll heads.

In fact when last did you hear of anyone in a responsible position getting canned. At best they get suspended on full pay for a few years.
