Hi there

If I have a decoder hooked up to a complex communal dish.

I dont have a subscription at the moment. Someone told me that you can enable and disable as you wish, and you can pay the pro-rata rates.

Is this correct?

For example. Call up MC and tell them you want it on from 27/05 to 13/06.

You can, but... your 1st re-connection per month is free, thereafter its R50 a time

Also, don't give them dates like that, rather call & disconnect it yourself otherwise it probably won't get disconnected

and you charged on a pro-rata basis?

sorry to res an old thread like this, but can you please confirm where you got the above info from?

According to the call-center there is no reconnection fee?

You can only downgrade (or switch off) once per month, is how I understand it.

Also - you can do this online, rather than speaking to some chop at the call centre. Switched off the DSTV last month via this method.
