Musica shuts down

BT Games saw the light sometime ago not sure if they have any shops left I know Northgate went bye bye sometime ago They going for online but as I see it that will only be a temporary measure

A couple BT games still operating here in Durban malls.

Sad day indeed for the employees, not only did piracy hit this market. Although, they did try and diversify their product range, but in the end they succumbed to the pandemic. They missed the opportunity to engage with customers with a strong online presence, which is the downfall of many a business...there is the need to constantly evolve.
Agreed

I see them all the time, specifically the one at Pav. But... have you ever seen anybody in the store? I keep seeing the one or two sales people just hanging around playing mobile games.

Yeah you're right never anyone in the stores - I like going into have a look but I've honestly never bought anything from them since 3DS games stopped coming out.

Bought many DVD's and Blurays there....till they stopped selling that and their CD offering started resembling a PnP CD offering in a platteland town. Then I did not buy there anymore. Cause there was nothing to buy there for me. Just jukeboxes and headphones.
They were the only shop selling movies but many shops were selling jukeboxes and headphones. The logical thing happened then.

I went to the one in Northriding and bought a bunch of DVDs for my niece, 1 cd for me (AWOLNATION), and 9 type-c cables

When did that go? :(

That's also gone?? :(

Science Centre moved to Observatory.
370B Main Road, Observatory

I was there once since they moved.
It seemed sad compared to when it was in Canal Walk. Same exhibits I remembered from years back, but it seemed a bit dilapidated.

It was exciting in Canal Walk. Went for a movie or to eat out and either popped in before or after. So was not just "go to the science centre", there was added benefits which made the whole trip to Canal Walk interesting.

Now you have to specifically drive there and that is it then.

The location was key.

Correct, the business itself just ran its course. The streaming and digital age has taken over, and they were never going to be able to compete financially. We can see how Cell C failed with the Black Box, Vodacoms streaming platform isnt really that great. Even the likes of Showmax isnt a platform that most people would choose over Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Apple Tv..

It's an indication of my age that when you mention that, I think of MWEB

Would be fun if someone like Makro could take them over and build the smaller locations into Makro tech with Newegg partnership

Buy? I used to sample the CDs to know which songs were downloading. Used to take around an hour to download an MP3 back then. I used to focus on finding niche artist because I could just get all the popular artists songs by borrowing MP3 CDs and even original CD from friends which we used to rip.

Got me headphones, the Sennheiser HD 2.20s for R500.

Was hoping to get earphones as well, the CX 600 BT but didn't have stock.
Did you ask when they're getting?
