I never said I was well informed about it. In fact in this very thread I freely admitted that I'm no expert. .
Thank you – I request that you not refer to the Islamic Law as Shakira’s Law as I feel that you have no right to, nor do you have any right to disrespect the Shariah Law seeing as above is the case.
Quite frankly I don't know why you feel the need to misrepresent me. Having said that it is not difficult to see when one group is being treated differently to another group based upon a criterion that neither side can control in any system.
I do though have strong feelings about sexism yes. Western society fought hard for the rights women enjoy today and I dislike the idea of any institution seeking to tip the scales again.
Please stop crying about misrepresentation. The way you came across so strongly of your disrespect for the Islamic Law made me think that you must be some expert on the topic. I am no expert on the law myself, this does not give me the right to disrespect it, or anything else for that matter.
Simple quick single example: Under Shakira law a husband can act as both husband and all witnesses (I think the number of witnesses required is 4 if I recall correctly but I'm not 100% sure on the exact number) in his wife's adultery trial. A women cannot do the same. This is inequality. There are of course many more examples but you only really need one to see what I'm talking about.
Proving adultery under Muslim law can be a very difficult task as it requires the accuser to produce four eye witnesses to the act of sexual intercourse, each of whom should have a good reputation for truthfulness and honesty.

By the way this isn't based on heresay. I've read the sections that deal with these particular parts of Shakira law. Feel free to look up the thread in PD where they were quoted it shouldn't take you more than a few minutes to find.
You see - the law refers that the accuser (albeit male or female) requires four substantial witnesses.
You need to understand, that Shariah Law is the law of God (Allah), disrespecting this law means disrespecting God.
Also please note, that because we are human, we tend to always misrepresent things in our life, and this is exactly what is happening in here and as a result, the cause of your disrespect.
