Hi

Currently for the past 2 months or so I have been having terrible internet to the point where it is unusable. I've called mweb and asked them whats up and also did a port refresh on telkom's side.

My line seems to be worse between 8-11pm but still not good, and even before or after that websites struggle to load and gaming pings example diablo 3 shoots between 700ms and 1500ms. it was never like this in the past.

I checked my mweb adsl package details and realized Im on the 1mb adsl uncapped package. which i pay R199 for a month.

I called mweb to ask if they could upgrade to 2mb as it was the same price. and my telkom line was already running at that speed. That was when they told me that currently I'm using more than 70gb a month which is why i am still on the 1mb data speed. and a 2 mb dsl gets throttled at 70gb.

then I heard about the 2mb premium for R369 which has a threshold of 200gb on a 30 day cycle. and would be more fitting.

now this is where im sitting, If i upgrade to 2mb premium, how sure am I that this would fix my gaming and other internet browsing issues I am currently facing.

And how does this 2mb premium for R369 compare to other isp's, do they also have this variance in standard/premium and which isp would be considered better.

Should I try the premium and what are the benefits and is it a good price or should i try another isp?

Lots pf people have been reporting gaming issues with MWEB of late, I have a 10MB line, and sometimes cant even connect, hardly ever before 17:00 , yet after that and over weekends, I dont seem to have any connection issues at all. MWEB maintain they prioritize gaming on their network, but something does not gel for me. When I cant connect with MWEB, and I try another ISP trial account, I can connect.

Thank you for the replies, so far I'm having to decide between the Afrihost 2mb for R199 or try the Afrihost 2mb business uncapped for R397 :)

If anyone could give experience between those two with regards to downloads and gaming and limitations & differences, any advice would be appreciated :)
