MWEB ADSL network changes

Ag shampies. Sucks to be you to have nothing better to do than to badmouth a company as much as you can whenever you get a chance to. ;) :p

Quite petty and childish imo. And I will voice my opinion about your trolling and childish behavior all I want. There's nothing you can do about it. Sorry. :)

Thanks, I will continue to do that. If you care to browse through my posts you will see there is a lot more that I talk about on this forum than just Mweb.
You have chosen to take a narrow minded view of my profile here on MyBB cos I stepped on your toes and upset your beloved.
To me though keeping companies accountable is vastly more important than simply heaping unfounded praise on them.
Mweb was not the company that "freed the web" ... there were several others that deserve that praise in SA long before Mweb came up with this flawed product.
But in your small little world your experience with life is too limited to know what is going on in the real world.
I seriously don't give a crap about your whining and calling me a troll. You are not the first little fan that I have and probably not the last.
I'll just keep doing what I do. I don't care what you do. You're welcome to it. Enjoy your infractions.
I've outlived many of the critics on this forum who were banned for calling me a troll. ;)
Have a super day!

So all you unhappy campers move on, I am sure you are going to get fantastic service and incredible speeds elsewhere for a similar price. And if it is not a Dslam or Telkom problem things are going to go much better for you, but if it is, boy are going to feel stupid. All you need is a couple of free 1GB accounts to test with, I have, and when things don't seem right I test with them and so far they have all had the same problem. So unhappy campers stop bitching and move on, the grass is always greener....

So Ucreate a new nick to post BS info? There big a problem with Mweb and they should acknowledge it. For a mere R360.00 per month you can get OpenWeb gold with full speed after hours, thats worth more than the time wasted using the Mweb service.

Point is that we all hope Mweb return back to what it used to be. Unfortunately that seems not a impossibility looking at what the CEO Rudi said.

Looks like the problems continue...

If you really cut to the chase with this issue, the problem, in a nutshell, is that Mweb have been caught off guard with the recent "adjustment" Telkom made to ADSL line speed. Their IPCs into the ADSL cloud are congested (over contended), and they have to shape the hell out of the connection to guarantee a "normal" service to everyone. This is why they are adding an IPC in Durban - to relieve the pressure on the Midrand IPC.

If you think about it : 4mbps was upgraded to 10mbps, 512kbps to 1mbps. For capped users, there is no rate limit in place. Mweb duely raised the rate limit for uncapped users of the 512kbps to 1mbps. This all consumes extra bandwidth at the IPC, and the onward links, and it appears to me that Mweb : a. didnt plan for it, or b. are maxing out their investment, with the priority on capped users where the larger margins are.

I am tired of hearing about Telkom DSLAM issues and the like from Mweb. The problem is their side, in their planning department. My wish is that they would just be straight with their customers. In other words, tell uncapped users that it is a best effort service and that capped customers get priority on the IPCs and the longhaul links. This is how they have configured and enforced it on the shapers anyway. Armed with this info we can then make a choice if the service is satisfactory or not. They are selling mutton as lamb... and its hit and miss for so many people because its so d*** inconsistent.

+1 My thoughts exactly
