Hi All,

I have a Billion W40 router which I got from Mweb with my ADSL account about a year or so ago.

Over the past few days its started dying on me. The internet connection dies (no light under internet on the router + I really can't get online). A few seconds after that the network (local, ie, wifi + wired lan) dies too.

It sometime resets by itself and sometimes I have to cycle power for it to come back up.

Anyone have experience with this? Also, does anyone know what the warranty period of these routers is? I think I may be past a year on it, not sure....

Thanks,

John

PM Billiontech or phone their offices 0126571317 for new F/W. Should sort it out....

Billion routers normally have 24months warranty.

I've had similar issues with mine. I'm long time over warranty so have not followed up with support. I did try a firmware update but still it's problematic. Sorry I have no solution as am answer.

Hi jonno_081 & iCare,

Please PM me your email addresses so that I can send you firmware to try.

Hi Billion_tech,

Thank you, I did get your firmware, however the router already had that version in it.

I uploaded it none the less but it did not make an ounce of difference. This has been a major issue for me (and from what I read, for many people).

Last night the thing stopped working all together. The power LED is on orange and the ADSL and internet lights blink.

I have now resorted to cancelling my mweb account and going with Cell C's 5Gb wireless router and a Vodacom 2Gb + 2Gb free backup modem.

Can I bump this on a firmware request? Does anyone know where we can still get this firmware?

Hi Guys
I am having similar issues but I have a Netgear N300 Telkom adsl router, the inernet just cuts out then the router seems to reboot and everything goes back to normal, Granted I still have to test a new moderm but I have heard from a few people now they having this problem. Is it then coincidental that all of a sudden you have a handful of people with different manufactured adsl moderms. or is their a service provider issue that no one is telling us about. i have a Mweb all inclussive uncapped ADSL account so.....?
Any other suggestions?
