I'm considering swapping to Crystal Web for all the good I've been hearing about them.
I'm currently on Mweb uncapped premium. I see after logging into my mweb account on their website, that there's a cancel button for the adsl account.

So if I cancel via the web interface now.. will that mean that I'm cut-off today.. and will I then still pay the full R539 at the end of the month?

Or will it only shut off on the last day of the month?

Or will I be shut off today and billed for half the month?

Or do I need a months notice? lol And if so, does that mean I have to wait till the end of next month before it's switched off? - I can't seem to get onto mweb.co.za today - seems the site is down, so I can't really read up on all this.

Thanks!

If I remember correctly - Mweb require a months notice, So your last month would be the following month after you cancel.

I see on some other threads, people recommend downgrading the account to a 1gb capped first then cancel after a successful downgrade.. so that last month will only be R29 or what ever 1gb costs.

I'm not particularly unhappy with mweb. Torrents suck during the day, though I barely ever torrent. I mostly just stream stuff. But the connection is definitely not performing like it did a few years back during the whole "Free the web" phase.

It's been like 5 years with them now, so time to try out someone new and Crystal Web's online chat support have been super quick and helpful, and general feedback on this forum makes it look very appealing. If they are better with streaming, I'll be cancelling and moving 2 other accounts (family members) too.

+1; if you submit your cancellation request today, Neverwhere, your cancellation would schedule for 1 May.

Sorry to see the connection isn't performing as it should, and that this led you to wanting to cancel. I'd strongly suggest that you chat with our Support team to troubleshoot, because online video stream traffic receives top priority on our network.

Please PM me your MWEB account details so that I can look into this for you.

Thanks :)

Does this work? Is it recommended? I am also intersted in canceling. Will downgroad today for next month then cancel closer to end of month

I had to downgrade to the R29 per month 1 gig, because of my mweb email address.
