all i can say is there must be fail somewhere because i'm running a vanilla utorrent with minor optimizations found with google:

1) non default port and properly forwarded
2) global max con 1000, max con per torrent 500
3) enable pnp, nat unticked
4) enable dht, local peer, peer exchange unticked
5) bt connect speed 100
6) transp disposition 255
7) max half open 255
 
I have vanilla utorrent running.. with NO optimisations at all...

and very rarely does it drop below 50kb/s....

Daytime shaping on a 384 line. That's the only explanation there is. HTTP is fine.

No. Copyright infringement for personal use does not fall under criminal law. It falls under civil law. Please educate yourself about the differences. The Copyright holder has to prove someone is using his work without permission and sue in a civil court. If someone is breaching copyright in terms of criminal law - eg re-selling copyrighted works - the copyright holder still has to notify the police of this as someone has to have copyright to point out that the other person is reselling copyrighted goods.

It's questionably dubious. This btw has been used in civil suits in the US. People share when they upload. It is in effect a barter - you exchange a piece of the file for the right to get another piece from someone else - it is copyright infrigement with a profit motive. However assume that copyrighted works sharing is illegal, whose copyrighted works?
Someone has to actually call law enforcement to say "Hey someone is uploading a file which I own the copyrights of." Maybe for common Hollywood and cheap POP music this is possible, but for more
obscure works from abroad whose agents don't have representation in SA - these people won't bother pressing charges. It is just too much effort and too expensive.

When it comes to downloading however, there is no ambiguity: Only civil suits by copyright owners.

BTW Google HOLLYWOOD ACCOUNTING to see how immoral these Hollywood guys are.

I (used to) use about 70-110 GB a month with Afrihost, then they decided to throttle me to 10% bandwidth all the frakking time. I am now a Mweb user. Hope the relationship lasts longer.
 
Here on M-Web we do 300+ GB per month. But there are some moaners that complain about P2P or high usage destination getting throttled. We just advise them to go to Afrihost instead :p

Irrelevant - that can change without notice, and you'll still be held for the same amount of cash each month - and have their new set of super secret rules enforced on your account.
 
I love super secret! If it makes me get 300GB+ per month then it needs to stay super secret.
