Hello,
My first post here, not really sure if this is the correct place to post such a thing but...
Anywho. I'm a Mweb user. I've been with Mweb now for a couple of years and been having this problem now for two years and I'm finally fed up.
I have a 4Mb/s ADSL Uncapped Premium package from Mweb, and a D-Link router. The problem lies here, whenever I try to connect to any Minecraft servers, let alone it being local or international, I always receive the message "Timed Out" . Restarting the router only helps sometimes, not all the time. Sometimes I'm able to connect and play without any problem but most of the time it's the complete opposite.
No other game will ever do this. I've played countless of online games and each of them I don't have this problem with. I have high suspicion it's something to do with the port 25565 (Minecraft's server port) .
When I connect to a VPN, any location in the world, I'm always able to connect and play Minecraft (Though this does have a downside - added latency which is highly annoying).
I've also noticed that WebAfrica has a free ADSL 1GB package. I have it setuped on my router and I can connect to my Mweb connection or WebAfrica connection. When I connect to my WebAfrica connection, I am able to play Minecraft with no lag whatsoever, no time outs or anything - all perfect. When I switch back to Mweb, boom, everything does not work with Minecraft. This proves that it lies with Mweb and not my router settings (most probably) .
Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
