Hi guys,

Id like to hear from people that's currently on 1Mb uncap adsl...
I'm looking at getting the 1meg uncap from mweb, I know its entry level.
Would it be good enough to play battlefield online?
If I download series and some music would it be fine?
How much data can you download per month using a 1mb line?

Which ISP do you use? I heard the mweb uncap is the best option?

I use to have a 1 meg until 1 week ago. And I only use play battlefield on a 1 meg from release date and had no problems . How much of data depends on how you download . I use to average between 40-50 gigs and I was not even downloading everyday

Axxess seems better nowadays. Openweb also get some good reports... Mweb seems to be in for a hammering and flooded with poor service reviews.

Morning deca300

I can arrange for a free 7 day trial account to be setup for you. That way you can get a taste the network for yourself. PM me your contact details so that I can arrange for a consultant to contact you.

I switched from the OpenWeb Gold 1MB uncapped to the Mweb 1MB uncapped. Online gaming on both is more than fine. I switched to Mweb because of administration and service problems with OpenWeb (unusable internet during office hours for a couple of months, rude unhelpful service, and problems with them storing my credit card details). I can't honestly say that I haven't had a problem or two with MWeb, but service thus far has been exceptional and quick, and they have been very transparent. Downloads and internet during the day is excellent.

That's my 2 cents anyway.

I get a solid 105kb/s download speed on my 1mb uncapped with MWEB (I don't have the cheap option, if there's a cheap one, the R199)

Does awesome. And like brwilliams said, those are the exact reasons I avoid OpenWeb as an example

Gaming doesn't need incredible speeds really, it needs good latency.
the data that travels itself is not that much..1Mbit can actually steam 480p video so for most games that should be enough

With 1Mbit your series will be coming down as fast as you can watch it... 1 hour of downloading should get you around 400MB.
If you watch a two hour movie, when it finishes, your next movie will be done. (if 700mb-800mb)

music works out to 3.3MB mp3 every 30 seconds, or 6.6MB mp3 every minute.

I personally manage over 200Gigs p/m

I use OpenWeb, their Gold accounts are just as cheap as other ISPs if you manage to snab a special. silver would be on par with Gold, and on some specials you will get 2 accounts for the price of one.
(free account for a friend, or you can split costs to make it half price essentially.)

It's best to try the TRIAL accounts most good ISPs will give you, and see which one works for you.

Thank you for the replied everyone! thanks Keeper!! just what I was looking for :)
