MWEB / DStv uncapped ADSL uasge conspiracy

I am on a 2Mbps MWEB with a shared DSTV account where I use the Ondemand for sport. I suggest testing before you commit to another ISP for Ondemand, I know I struggled on a 4Mbps Afrihost previously. Supersport streaming works great over Cell C btw - laptop with good battery life make it awesome:)

I am still deciding on Netflix vs Hulu - I was hoping we would get a service here soon we don't need to con out way to PAY to use.

Simple answer, but greed is holding us back: We just need a localized hulu/netflix.

30 day rolling period!!! Eish! I just moved over to IS as the sustained speeds of Mweb's network were just not up to scratch. But IS runs on a 10 day rolling period, easier to work with.

And Netflix is Far superior to Hulu in the amount of choice available and technology.

Even my wife, which isn't really into ISPs know not to go MWEB. They phoned her yesterday to sell her Adsl uncapped. She told them that most people complain about MWEB and would rather stay with Telkom. (Yes, Telkom) :)

OK just saw I got a Notice as well (Slow down internet from the 1st of Sep due to high usages)

Joke is: Last month I did 93 gig on a 1 meg line with 60+ gig being Steam data from MWEB servers. (Bloody steam Summer Sale + Humble Bunbdles) If this is unacceptable behavior then I do not know what is acceptable according to them. Yes My Steam is running 24/7 but its local god dammit, so you should not complain!!!!!!

I think I am shopping for a new ISP.....

Will do thanks!

I watch most sports at friends houses etc.
On demand would be for kyknet :p and Carte Blanche etc

But now that the little one has arrived we don't watch TV that much and things I do watch I get with sickbeard.
So downloading what I want to watch and not downloading cos I can and guys at work bug me for...

So maybe my usage will decrease?

But saving R700 from dstv would be nice

Lies! its only the 3% that moved 1.5TB p/m!

...Only those users who run unattended downloads or exhibit similar constant-downloading activity on their line would be affected, Mweb said.
I smell something and it ain't roses.

Its only wrong if you don't sit and watch it for 24.7

Contant downloading like steam? origin? gog? gamersgate? Itunes?

How about HD over at vimeo?

Going to really crack one if some gets lettered and they were only using the box office...
