I want to try that this weekend.
As I am looking at options to drop mweb and dstv


Options:
go to telkom for 4mb uncapped and will save me R5 from my current 2mb uncapped with mweb
Then cancel dstv, get Netflix etc....
Use my parents premium dstv account to get on demand and dstv mobile (as they are not using it)

Save of R700 already a month and double my speed, or save another R200 and go to 2mb uncapped with telkom

And NO Naspers

They have denied that ondemand is traffic exempt (a denial which wasn't necessary to make because it would be perfectly reasonable to say that ondemand isn't included in a calculation of the amount of data consumed by a user). The separate databases only goes so far because as soon as you use ondemand the connection between accounts is made and lets face it the prospects of illicit data sharing are sadly not particularly remote.

Hershaw is starting to sound a lot like Brian Armstrong at Telkom. How can you implement thresholds without knowing what the limits are?

Paul that is the best summary of why this whole thing is complete bull and why everyone is so angry.

I cannot fathom how I am abusing the AUP since I am doing nothing to bypass their shaping.

I always understood that I could go bananas and they would shape me to an acceptable level for them. Win win for both of us. Which is fine. It's what I signed up for. If their shaping algorithm is losing them money how dare they now blame their customers. It's actually pathetic.

Almost the same as DSTV showing crap movies on their normal channels the moment BoxOffice was launched. Go check for yourself - before BoxOffice the Sunday 8pm movie was always something worth to watch - nowadays its a crap B-Rated movie. Why would DSTV compete with their own BoxOffice service anyway???

Interesting though, since the amended policy do not state any values, when do the user know when he violates the policy? Surely the accused user(s) can then demand the entire 3% to be made known in order to be punished or else MWEB would be violating their own policy.

Naspers and all their subsidiaries should remove all MWEB advertising related to your direct quote or else they will be in immediate violation entering September 2013 in all regard with their actions taken.

If they are throttling now then they are already in violation.
 
i now understand why my Mweb experience sucks, so Naspers employees can have a decent internet experience. I wonder if they will start prioritising Mweb customers who own Naspers shares

Well, I just spoke to an attorney today who informed me that the company he works for has been hired by another company. They will be monitoring Mweb's advertising from the 1st of Sept. They will take actions, on behalf of their 'client' should Mweb continue advertising 'uncapped' deals.

This will be interesting to see. If they do, this will start a revolution in this corrupt sector!

Just because he says they NOT getting any preferential treatment doesn't mean that it is so.

I am on a 2Mbps MWEB with a shared DSTV account where I use the Ondemand for sport. I suggest testing before you commit to another ISP for Ondemand, I know I struggled on a 4Mbps Afrihost previously. Supersport streaming works great over Cell C btw - laptop with good battery life make it awesome:)

I am still deciding on Netflix vs Hulu - I was hoping we would get a service here soon we don't need to con out way to PAY to use.
