MWEB Gaming Feedback

My black ops is disconnecting again. Every now and then I just get theis network error on black ops. I have league match tonight at 19:00 so can you please check into it for me.

Yip, noticed this too. It was resolved, but its back again. I get "Connection Interruptions" constantly for the first 5 min of play. Or I get disconnected with the "Black Ops is not available" error. At the same time my Team Speak also constantly connects & disconnects.

I have a 4mb line that works fine with Afrihost though!

Funny my Xbox Live never gives me these kinda hassles really, maybe its becuase im already used to the lag?

Played spiral knights tonight and well I have never put up with such crap ping before!

Teleported everywhere then died about 3 times before I just gave up for the night.

Honestly, wth? (other general browsing issues but that is detailed in the other thread)

Will,

Has RIFT been looked at yet or is it already part of gaming traffic ?

Could someone at MWeb please have a look at the connection problems affecting RIFT, cant seem to log in and if I do I receive pretty nasty lag spikes. I've had to change to my cheap Axxess account just to play a bit. It's been a problem now for about 24 hours.

There seems to be a problem with the Login screen that is affecting users. Just gets stuck on connected, success or retrieving realm list. Can't get in game. Tried everything to flushing dns etc. Had to buy a gig on Axxess and it works. If you need any more info, let me know! Also been a problem since the beginning of the weekend.

Edit, trawling web for answers, here are some related threads on the WoW EU Forums:

In addition to clients in Europe complaining, anyone who has mentioned they are from South Africa is also (not surprisingly) an MWEB customer.

Whats up Will@Mweb, The PSN network ran fine for a while with lags now and then but since this morning about 3AM something went astray as the lag gets so bad I get banned from games playing KZ3. They must be thinking I use a lag switch to cheat. LoL. It is really so sad.

Had neither of those for the 8 hours I played today, just curious if it's already part of gaming traffic or not.

Hi MegasXLR - responded to you in the other thread.

Hi Mike

You will need to provide us with a bit more info if you'd like us to investigate this. some details about the game (addresses, ports, etc) and ping and tracert results taken while you were experiencing a problem. It would also be useful to know where you are situated, how frequently the problem occurs and at what time of day.

Also if you are having problems that extend beyond the gaming experience please ensure that you have checked for client side issues and your ADSL service conditions before flagging the matter for investigation as an MWEB network issue.

Thanks
Will

Hi Mweb,

I recently purchased Heroes 6 on steam and have started downloading the beta, however it is going extremely slowly. i'm on a 10mb uncapped line with mweb and its downloading between 10-50kb/s.

This is really fustrating to say the least. I wanted to play the game by the morrow, not next week.

Edit: I tried a fix which involved deleting a 2mb file in tthe steam directory. When i restarted steam its started updating steam again, going at betwen 5-20kb/s according to my bitmeter. It seems to build up over a few seconds and once reaching the peak of 20kb/s it drops to zero again, so in my bitmeter it resembles triangles. been 10 minutes and its only at 53%, the 2mb update that is. The same download pattern happens while trying to download the game.

Have you checked your steam preferences to ensure that you are pointed at one of the MWEB content servers?

My steam downloads are also going very slow, not higher than 6KB/s on my 4mb uncapped line. Tried rebooting router and its not working. Also using the joburg mweb server.
