MWEB Gaming Feedback

aaah seriously???? You haven't made it to Cata yet? It's purrrdy. :D

Pity I can't boost you. :p

Haha nope. Remember I only started playing again around November thanks to you lot :D I have been levelling a lock as well, but the rogue will be my first look at the Cata Zones - can't wait :)

Age of Conan also not happy at all getting 4k latency in game. Using afrihost and am getting 205 latency.

I'm sure it's related Rohan, just hang in there and I'll update you guys if there is any feedback.

Lets hope for the best. I just keep having the feeling it has something to do with this new bandwidth device. Don't laugh lol seriously I was born with the "helm". (prolly a crash helm in my case)

Mine works 100% on the Webafrica network - latency 200ms !!! on MWEB ... insane !!

So seems to me like this "deal" mweb has with wtfast is causing problems for existing wtfast account holders

hmm...I do not use wtfast, and I have curently problems with MWeb, while WA is 100% working. Can't be the wtfast then...

At this point nothing is being ruled out and that device is under very close scrutiny along with any other possible problem areas, I'm sure our guys will get to the bottom of it soon.

pfffy 'tis not my fault I claim innocence. :p

I'm too much of a lazy player to finish leveling my pally. :o Heck my main's (prot/fury warrior) not even geared properly yet. :D

Pics or it didnt happen. :p :D

My call of duty is getting better and better. At least faster now to login to black ops. but still servers is very slow

tried on my mweb accout tonight no downloads running and was sitting on 10k latency to wow.
switching to WA account gave me about 300-400ms

I find it odd that my ICMP traffic seems fine while my game traffic does not. Then again ICMP packets are tiny.

Could not play wow on MWEB uncapped Unshaped... ended up buying MORE unshaped bandwidth from WA AGAIN... cmon paying premium for this is a joke? How long does it take MWEB "Experts" to do root cause analysis???

WoW + WTFAST + Webafrica - 200 ms latency...
Wow + WTFAST + MWEB - 4000ms latency...
Wow + MWEB - 7000 ms latency...

At this stage any professional company would be hiring some specialist contractors to sort out their issues... cause it seems like MWEB tech team is not capable.

When is the ISSUE going to be addressed? It should be obvious by now even to a moron that something is wrong. Its like a running joke we are talking to our upstream providers, technicians are investigating all possibilities...
Are you guys running for political office? Because if ever we had to listen to excuse-ism this is it.
MWEB's international connects have gone haywire and considering local peering is sometimes routed via international, your entire network is compromised.
Now does it take a rocket scientist to figure out the problem? Err
Hint, all our traffic is routed through London

Yep definitely feeling the pain too, my Rogue is at lvl 79 and I'm looking forward to seeing Cata content for the first time. You're completely right about the 8-5 response and you can consider MWEB Guy's ear pulled on the matter.

Aaaahaah!!!! A fellow rogue!!! Anywho, logged in for about 15minutes last night into Wow. Got sub 250ms latency when using BattlePing. About 2 days ago it seemed that BattlePing made almost no difference to my latency, so I dont know if that makes any sense or will help. Logged out, disabled BattlePing, logged back in, latency through the roof. Doesnt make sense Will. Seems that the shaping issue is the same one we had in the beginning (about when Cata released). Shaping rules probably?? Seeing as today is Friday (don't. even. think. about. singing....) I will have more time to play around tonight, not that there is actually anything else I can test for you.

One more thing: Im more or less in the Cape Town area (give or take 60km), and as Ive heard someone mention before, we are on the SAT3 cable. Is that true?

your on sat 3 should be.

i 168ms latency last night( what i always get) , but was spiking had to switch WA to do my raid :(

Its simple no matter where you want to connect to in the world you are going to go through London/a UK based hub. its the only route into africa there is.
This hub is giving problems and until they sort out what went wrong with what was supposed to be a routine operation we the end user are stuffed. Checking stuff ourside is pointless until someone an Mweb says they have sorted out the problem. You will notice nobody has actually said it is fixed just they are working on it...

Oh get off it, they are looking into the problem, what do you expect? 2 Hour turnaround time?

Pfft maybe mweb should buy everyone here a free 2gb account with Afrihost or WA :P I want to play tonight and my poor 1gb backup account has been used up this week due to all the problems.

It's called remote administration.... Welcome to the 21st century and the age of the Internet...
The company I work for has multiple international ventures, and it's all PRIMARILY managed from here. Yes there are technicians etc in each country, but 99% of the problem resolution and investigation is done locally.

One thing the troggs are failing to realise. Gamers are still a small portion of the business of MWeb, and as such they can't do anything and everything to fix things for us. They have to maintain their primary business units, and try to resolve the issues we're having without disrupting the services that ARE working. I know in my line of work, our "users" often request a restart of their servers, "cause it usually fixes the problem". All very good and well, but if you can't isolate the problem, all you've done is supended the problem to another point in time, where you will likely have the same problem, and the same people complaining.

Please post constructive posts, and stop with the complaints. Will has stated that MWeb are looking into the issue, and at this stage, bitching and moaning is not going to make things happen any faster.

Anyone with a WTFast account that is still having issues with lag spikes or connection issues, please send a message to [email protected] with your WTFast account name and we will upgrade you to WTFast Advanced so you can try different ports to help deal with the traffic shaping. Other MWEB users have had success by doing this.
