Seacom is making good progress with the restoration of their cable and if all goes well, we will start the cut-over process later tonight. We will carry on monitoring the service and only complete the full cut-over later tomorrow, once we are satisfied that everything is running smoothly.

Kind Regards

thanks! no worries here. you did fight the good fight against this blizzard of bull**** we call connectivity in ZA.

(probably had to fork out some dollaz in a musky telco office to keep the ship sailing.)

Seacom had some delays in stabilising their service last night. They eventually gave us the green light to start the cut over at about 5:00am this morning. There's then still a couple of hours worth of configuration work etc. on our side, which would have taken us into the window period when a large part of our base starts to come online this morning. We obviously didn't want to have any problems at that time so we made the call to postpone the cut-over by 24 hours. We'll keep you posted if anything changes.

Kind Regards

Thanks for the heads up.

SEACOM traffic on the TENET network has been working since 6am this morning (Fri 23rd), as can be seen on this graph:

I'm flipping impressed with MWEB. Taking their consumers very seriously. It's a breath of fresh air, thank you.

Since your bandwidth has been "restored" my connection has been cutting out every hour or so which requires a router restart to fix only to have it cut out again in the next hour. Indications from my side show that the line is perfectly fine so it must be something your side.

Same here. My mweb accounts are very intermittent. I guess I'm just going to stay on saix for the rest of the day.

Same here, 1 account, two locations on uncapped both dying intermittently- whats up MWEB? From what I can see it happens after the first tengig hop while doing a traceroute...

Same here - be tracking some mweb problems myself at hop: 196.22.169.241 - 196.25.8.249 Lots of jitter and SHARP ping spikes. 31ms - over 300.
Hoping they will clean this up after we are back on seacom.

mine has progressed to a stable connection except for when i attempt to p2p download and then the line drops again.

oh and @SlowHands, I think he means he's tried connecting with his 1 account from two different locations at two different times with the same problems resulting and this strengthens the idea that its not the physical line but rather a problem on mwebs side.
