Mweb Local Uncapped Trial

Yes, that is all you pay!

Just make sure that you DO NOT have any "top-up" options enabled in your M-Web ADSL Control Panel or it will just add another Gig of International (or even worse per Meg Billing). You use up the 1 Gig of your International and it goes directly into the local. No extra costs.

I do not see how I cannot have any top-up options enabled. from what I see you have to choose either pay per meg or 1Gig booster. If I choose 1 gig booster can I decide when to activate it- then just leave it unactivated?

Yes, you choose the "Buy booster" option but then just make sure that "Auto-booster" is not enabled.

ok did that...I'm sure the Auto Booster feature will only appear next month when the booster option kicks in..thanks

Bah
Why cant you sign up online, and why do you need to send them all these documents to open an account...
* Telkom bill (for ADSL All Inclusive purposes)
* debit order details
* 3 months bank statements and/or payslip
* proof of address

All i wanna do is buy bandwidth, every other isp i dealt with had an online form which you fill in and then pay via credit card. Simple and quick

But not mweb....
The form thats available for download (to print, sign and fax back) appears to be only for all-inclusive packages (line and data)
So it would seem the only way to sign up for data only is to call them....

Not worth the hassle...

why are you worried about the Booster option if you are taking this out for the local bandwidth?

if you want international rather get Axxess or WebAfrica... they are much cheaper.

This is what it should look like with all the Booster Options Turned off...

Ja, you are right. It's not worth the hassle! :rolleyes:

holy christ,,what a runaround to signup for their R145 option,,why not just have a credit card online purchase system
get your online purchase system going mweb and you'll have a lot more customers

cos their billing system is handled by the same people who handle the DSTV billing system... and they like to do everything "official" (like bill you for a month in advance by the middle of the previous month.. etc.)

I received this email this morning after asking about the unlimited local cap.

Note: I have been an mweb member for a very long time, but only upgraded to ADSL since yesterday. I have been using SAOL as my adsl account.

Anyways I hope this guy doesnt know what he is talking about.

Good day Leon

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

There is a limit of 10 Gb on local-only access, once your international cap has been reached.

Please feel free to contact us should you require further assistance.

Kind Regards

Tashriq Omar

best they update their website info to reflect that then ....... I'll sign up and if I don't get unlimited local, I'm claiming false advertising :mad:

i just hope they do the RIGHT thing and notify people by media/email/adverts of their intention to either charge or whatever they are planning.

they are getting billed by saix - no question about that - them being able to "absorb" the charge and not to reflect it to end user is the weird part.

I just downloaded a copy of there pricing pdf where they still state that it is uncapped. So they better notify us if they change their minds. :mad:

I got nothing in the e-mail from them
I think they are just doing it to discourage ppl from downloading a lot.
