Did you transfer your line from Telkom to Mweb??

Is anyone else having problems with their Mweb local only? It comes and goes, esp. the HTTP. HTTP sometimes pauses for minutes at a time. How do we go about reporting this?

Basically it is still a telkom line but it is billed through Mweb @ a reduced rate or something, only R579 512Line+3gb cap.
Strange thing though the line feels abit slower got max according to netmeter:490kb/s, very intermittent starts of very slow and sometimes reaches good speed.

I phoned MWeb a couple of weeks back and asked the person when they are stopping the uncapped and he said it will remain free and uncapped permanently. I do however keep checking my MWeb mailbox to see if they have sent me anything stating otherwise.

Hallelujah! :D

Now, if I could just figure out why I keep losing connectivity on my M-web account.

My WebAfrica is fine for international... but the m-web local keeps losing it's connectivity.

I was planning on dumping Mweb but then they started with the local only, so the plan was to dump them after the local only testing was done. Now I'll definitely be "stuck" with them a while longer :D

Can someone sign up now and get free local after capped, if not then how do I get some of the action...

no, they said they could barely afford all of us leeching them to death and if one more person signed up they were gonna go bankrupt! Sorry dude! :p

I'm gonna phone the bums tomorrow and get a proper answer ...... this from their site -

What do I do once my data cap is reached?

Good news for all MWEB ADSL customers. As of 1 February 2008, MWEB is launching a trial program offering local-only bandwidth to customers who reach their data cap limit - which means you can enjoy continued access to Internet services hosted in South Africa after you use up your monthly data.*

For the duration of the trial, you will be able to access local websites, services and content free of charge whenever you exceed your cap . Local-only bandwidth refers to websites and Internet services hosted in South Africa, i.e. data is transferred from South African-based sources.

This means that if you reach your ADSL cap, you will still be able to:

* send and receive your MWEB e-mail as usual
* surf any website hosted in South Africa
* Continue to access your local Internet banking

... all at no additional cost to you!

doesn't say anything about new customers not getting free local .....

doesn't say anything about new customers not getting free local .....

somebody earlier in this thread said it did not apply to new customers, but I doubt that. Would be a dumb move on M-Web's part. I can see maybe not the first month... but surely from then onwards.

BTW, all those of you who do get unlimited local... PM me if you want to join up with BitFarm! :D Cause then you can share to your heart's (and our's) content! :p

I reckon if it's any customer, then guess who will shortly be signing up to Mweb as a 2nd account :D

any answer to this please, I am gonna signup ASAP if it is fur new ppls

why does the mweb usage monitor show out of package suage if the only thing that's running is the connection to saix??
is there any way to change the minimum out of package to R0...right now the minimum is R100
