MWEB reduces uncapped ADSL prices

Actually, by telkom, for example, dropping their IPC prices by another 20% and only their "entry level" ADSL and line rental prices by 50%, we could see the total "entry level package" reach the "below R300,00 per month". This is possible, since we are talking here of the most basic package, to get the poorest of South Africans online.

Or, without another 20% drop in IPC prices, telkom could make the "entry level 1MB ADSL + line rental", R50,00 each.

The other packages, which can be considered "luxury packages", since they are merely "the choice to have faster speeds", simply remain static in price, with an increase in speed instead, as is the model adopted by telkom.

This could simply be seen as, in a sense, "helping the poorer South Africans", that really need that "below R300.00, 1MB package", in order to get to the stage, where they start earning enough, to also "choose a faster speed", thereby helping others, who need the "entry level package", to get their lives started.

I'm sure many here will say that this is impossible and that it will never happen...just like many, telkom included, thought that uncapped was unsustainable and lower priced uncapped impossible. Look where we are today, compared to a mere 2 years ago...

Point taken... but there is still alot of work to be done to get to that point.

+1 Now that's a scenario we've been crying for,for ages.
 
also got billed R588, when I thought it should be R488 ... and as far I remember, they bill you up-front, so the R588 is for May, which means I am paying more than than everyone else that signs up now.
Not a good thing to do to your loyal customers!!
 
I finally downgraded to 1mb. Dont see why i need to pay these suckers that much.wil wait till 2mb comes out or when 4mb prices dropped.
