MWEB THROTTLING

I know much has been said about MWEB throttling uncapped ADSL accounts, I got my uncapped 2gig ADSL line throttled recently. MWEB advised me as per the following:

You have used 61.89 GB so far this month.

Connection status: Throttled

Your total usage for the past 30 days: 83.78 GB

Could someone advise me if MWEB is correct or what is acceptable usage.?

Should I move to another ISP ?

A standard 2Mbps account has a threshold of 70GBs, so you've gone past that already.

Your other option is to upgrade to a Premium account.

You see this is what I don't understand - I'm in the exact same situation - 64GB odd and now throttled. Shouldn't the throttle only kick in once usage has reached 70GB? I was under the impression that it worked similar to a cellphone contract - you have 70GB for the month to use at the full 2mbps - if you exceed that on say the 15th you'll be left with the decreased speed until the end of the month when the line speed will be jacked up to full speed for a maximum of 70GB.
Obviously I'm not correct - as I'm still within the limit, but already throttled.

Well, stop downloading pron and movies/series illegally via torrent/NBZ and then you should not have the problem lol

There's your problem.

Nope - I'm not 64.26 for the past 30 days - so my reasoning would be - I have to stop my downloads to keep within the limits until the 28th and then I can get going again.

What are the cancellation procedures with Mweb? I know I have to give a months notice, but I also received the FON router and range extender when I signed up - do they come and collect it or do I just keep it in the cupboard until the time they adopt a more reasonable usage strategy?

Why not just upgrade to premium?

Hi Mets

Please can you provide me the MWEB email address or username so that I can have a look from our side. I will provide you with more information as well.

Then of course there is the option of say ... AH, or TI, or Axxess or WA or OW ... the common thread here is that they don't throttle ... or soft cap if you will, rather choosing to shape selectively which IMHO is a better option.

Edit ... I must at this point say that MWEB has other fine attributes, but soft capping is not one of them.

So i recently got shaped to death(yes all protocols) (TITAN package) on Openweb....
Yes I can understand shaping but not on port 80. then it becomes throttling IMHO.

OH HELL mweb man IS OUT TO ASSIST YOU LIKE HE ASSISTED ME. MY ANSWER IS STILL BLOWING IN THE WIND. mweb man IS LIKE AN anc politician PROMISING MUCH AND DELIVERING ZIPPO NIKS

Not the 28th, just until your usage for the last 30 days drops below 70 GB. For example, if on 22 January you downloaded 72 GB, you're only going to have to wait until tomorrow (30 day). If on Feb 19 you used 71 GB, you'd have to wait until 21 March.

What if I haven't been with Mweb for 30-days and I'm throttled even though my usage hasn't reached 70GB yet? Do they use a daily average? Because that would my total cr@p - I started out doing something like 8+ GB a day but for the last 5-days I've been doing around 800MB
