Mweb Uncapped 4meg Usage

Hi guys!

Can the folkes with the 4meg uncapped shaped accounts from mweb please ballpark your monthly usage figures for me? Because I have done about +-540GB up to date in this month and im getting seriously rashed by the abuse department! :confused: Am I in the wrong here? Its roughly 22gb a day. I don't bypass shaping or do http downloads. Is this really classified as too much for a 4meg line?

If it was for only this month then don't worry they will close their eyes,but if you continue similar for 2-3 more months Be warned you will receive your first abuse letter.People please don't try to hide behind "I did not by pass shaping,abuse letters has nothing to do with by passing it, they are worried about your constant downloads may not be 24/7 but if you do more than 400-500 GB for 2-3 months then they will highlight those days you did more than 30GB in every month and then say you are abusing your account.(Meaning that you are using your account too much to their liking,That's what is called ABUSE.It means that you are now using the bandwidth they could have sold to some one else.

I am seriously surprised that I have never heard any 1MB user receiving any letter of abuse even after constantly pulling more than 150 GB every month.So MWEB only targets 4MB users for ABUSE mails.That's why you will see a lot of Happy 1 MB users out there.

They feel sorry for anybody that has to endure speeds slower than 4MB :)
 
Thanks for the feedback guys! I will cool down a bit on the dl's its also mainly because its my first month on, everybody remembers trying to download the interwebz when you first get your line! :D

I remember when I got my hands on an uncapped account for the first time too. I downloaded such a load of crap that I am only watching now (about 1-2 years later). Ghost Hunters 1-6, Medium 1-7, Tru Calling, Ghost Whisperer etc. Glad to see I'm not the only one that went completely bonkers...
 
I use around 200 Gig a month and never heard anything from the abuse department.
 
I was hoping to reply and say that we haven't received any complaints at the office, but it seems we have only done 59GB since activation on the 16th :p

Mind you, that would be pushing pretty close to 200GB in a month if we continue like we are...
 
PLUS i think i asked a techy once what "abuse" limit is and he replied just dont go mad lol..450- is a safe mark to stay in!

like qwkslver said as well ..thats what the mweb techy said to .soooo stay under 400 to be safe?
 
After a while there is not much you can really download every month. Plus you just end up with terrabytes of crud.... I have had 2 X 4mb accounts for about 2 years now. Initially I did close on 200gig, but now days probably average 50 to 80 gig a month. So I do less than 200 gig on both accounts combined. Does not bother me... I only download a select amount of high quality mp4 shows / movies. Dont even download music these days, all on youtube anyway. I like the peace of mind of just never having to worry about capping out!

Using news servers to download content could be an alternative. See the following link with regards to news servers.
 
When I also started, I downloaded about 700GB worth of stuff. Now I am busy sorting and deleting. Hardly even go over 100GB. If you dont run out of space on your HDD's, you run out of stuff...
