+1.

800GB as is the issue, is (roughly) 80% maximum throughput for 24h per day, for the entire month. Tell me how that's not placing strain on a network (and breaking most of the other FUP rules).

Savage I did a bit of digging and found that we cancelled your first account for abuse, you then decided to go online and sign up another account.

This is against our terms and conditions, therefore we cancelled the 2nd account before you had the chance to abuse it :D

haha caught

MWEB - state the "cap"

once your subscriber reaches it - throttle him down to wot-eva.

Don't hide behind a AUP that you cant disclose the most important info.

Anyway .. MWEB's not the only uncapped provider anymore. In fact the're quickly becoming the most expensive of the lot, so if they give you grief over some imaginary limit on a limitless account just take your money elsewhere. You might even safe a few bucks.

With MWEB uncapped you are paying a slight premium over the other IS based uncapped options, but those cheaper IS uncapped options are throttled much worse!

What do you download cause I can't think of the amount of stuff to download that you have to do it 24/7. The only thing I can think of is Porn :p

This lol. What, for the life of me, would be so worth getting to occupy a line flatout 24/7 for a month? Lets say you get away with 2-3 months doing this with warnings of abuse. Then, when it's finally cut off, you are still sitting on top of 'n whopping 3TB of who-knows-what. Alright, so you have 4 or 5 2TB or even 3TB HDDs and so far your ISP hasnt noticed... What would have happened when you have downloaded 15TB and you have no more space? Im curious. Regardless of what. I can only laugh thinking about the person sitting there watching every MB tick off to the end with 500 externals stockpiled next to them, just ready to plug one in and continue. Then when they get warned (when someone asks you to please stop it) you cry technicalities and fineprint and go on..What a hoarder mentality. Go Go, DL the Interweb! You can do it! Moar space! lol

What is the point of comparing a first world country's internet patterns / usage to our third world country?

What on earth do you do with your line that you require 800gb of data? Even if you download bucket loads of illegal movies in HD, you will not have enough time to watch them all. Or is it just simply, I want to download as much as I can, because I can?

Why does it have to be illegal? Just because you are poor doesn't mean everyone else it, some of us can afford the nice things in live. Try and stream things or buy videos. Maybe your wife/gf is a doctor and they work shifts so there is always the need to be able to view HD videos at different times of the day depending on who's home. With our slow lines (4 or 10Mb) you will take a while to download them and queue up things to watch.

Like I said, you guys have extremely narrow views on the world while sitting in your mother's basements.

You know absolutely nothing about me, but you like passing judgement like you are allmighty. Show me your 800gb worth of HD movies you downloaded / streamed legally. Is this via iTunes or what service? If you like bitching about MWeb not living up to your standards and you are so rich, why not just get a diginet line directly to your mansion, or your wife / girlfriend's doctors office.

Or if that's too expensive, get a business unshaped uncapped account and you can live like the 1st world troll that you think you are.

You keep on telling the world your wonderful excuses for raping the system and trying to justify it, yet no one here buys your crap.

I really laugh when people try to justify a mad high usage and blame things on "streaming". If you are going to stream something you are going to need to be able to watch/listen while you stream which on a 4 meg line so just where are the sources for streaming coming through ? Lets say you used the whole Netflix accesibility work around, just how much can you watch ? The only way you can pull down such a large ammount is by hoarding.

The very people who do mad high usage ruin it for the rest as they are the ones who make the isp's implement the various shaping and restrictions to protect themselves.

Dont even start on first world countries either, keep up on news over the past months more and more ISP's in first world countries are having caps of some sort.

Edit: All this "I use legal large downloads" is crap because the services that are really awesome for this sort of thing are highly restrictive or block south africa anyways. People would probably turn around and say "I do purchase I just use a overseas credit card" (in itunes example), you're still breaking copyright's in that case.

Pot calling the kettle black if you ask me. Stockpiling the internet in case of emergencies? There is life outside of the internet! Go get some... it would take me a year to even think about what to use 800 GB on, let alone the time to actually find and download it all.

Edit: Geesh! I was somewhere else on the forum and had to come back and add to this co's I can't even begin get my head around this. 800GB per month! That is a lot of binary! To think a few years ago we could not get more than 3GB a month per account. That is really taking the pi$$! I am so with MWeb on this one. Eight Hundred bigones! Please... do me a favour and get of of my internets! It's guys like this that FUP's were written for. 800GB! Fark!

If you guys had real jobs, you would understand the need for big data. Go look at it, it's happening around you.

Movies is but one part, but when doing research you sometimes have to get Gbs and Gbs of raw information to work through. Like I said before, just because you guys watch porn and pirate movies doesn't mean the internet just revolves around that.

As for subxero, I'm sure you have a great life outside of the internet. Why are you here? Go knock on some doors on a Sunday and spread your gospel!

I got yet another one from them cause of abuse over the weekend.
Arma 2 through steam - 19GB. Windows 8 32 and 64 bit editions via MSDN and VS2012.

Had enough. Signed up with Afrihost last night and switched over.

Not cancelled MWeb yet though. Need to see which is better for day to day use first.

PS I like the fact that Mweb is a bit more expensive. Keeps the kind away that swarm from one R10 monthly saving to the next - and ****s it up for everyone else in the process because they have to download the internet.

Agreed, this whatwhat guy is so funny.

I have friends in the video editing industry that upload and download for clients overseas and they ship huge amounts of data up and down. They do on average 400 - 600gb a month. And guess what? It runs on a bonded business unshaped adsl connection. They pay for the service but it's meant for that purpose.

The amount of data you pulling yourself , you should strongly consider going the same route ( You can afford it ).

I wonder what the true doctors at universities pull data wise for their research in a month ...

The point is, you have a narcissistic personality that makes you think you are better in all aspects of life than others. I wonder if you keep on with you little conquest for prove MWeb wrong and they show you logs , if all your data is what you say it is. ( Or are you just a keyboard ninja? )

One moment it's streaming HD movies, then it's downloading for viewing another time, and then it's for research. Just stop already and accept the fact that you were given warning about you excessive usage.

Oh yes, and attacking people personally because you can't defend yourself properly speaks volumes of you.
