MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

I have been trying to, but having trouble with their system, so not sure if it has gone through. If I don't get the SMS in the next hour I will try again.

Having the same issues on my line the last few days latency on GW2 and WoW get higher every night the later it gets. On trace route it has high latency on first hop and during the day it's fine most of the time i tested it. I know the exact words Mweb will use if i call them "high latency on first hop indicates congestion at your exchange" maybe that's true but I don't think that happens at 23:00 at night, unless everyone where i live are night owls like me.

Torrents fly full speed all the time but i guess there not dependent on my latency. Shouldn't a congested exchange impact my line speed? My area code is 021 761 **** is anyone else effected in the area? I believe i connect to Wynburg exchange at the station if my memory serves

Having major Int issues as well but cannot find anything related to my area, what gives?

What is up with Mweb and your/telkom exchanges? Every night my ping goes up, daytime internet ping is fine to moderate around 11 ms to mweb.co.za, but at night the picture changes.

This just done (Local)

More people at home then , when everybody starts downloading etc, congested exchange quite normal these days if you on old DSLAM that does not have fiber backbone , normally these only support up to 4mps.

On my side I'm having dns issues. DSL light not going on. Modem I'm using is linksys x3000. Just thought I'd report it here and call it an early night.

Good morning Salex, are you still experiencing this ?

1000ms has to be more then congestion to connect to local DSLAM (fyi 10mbps ready exchange) and the trace route was taken at 04:00 in the morning......unless there's between 100-1000ports at exchange and 500 pirates are all D/L'ing all illegally at the same time then maybe.....I don't buy it though.

Apparently there is an issue with the exchanges in Pretoria and all surrounding areas. I'm in the East of Pretoria and I'm also have intermittent disconnects. My router light stays on though and I can ping Google and still get a reply, but I cannot browse any websites; neither local nor international.

Hi all,

I thought I should just add we had some issues on the business ADSL line on the weekend, there were plenty of notifications sent to the main contact (smses) regarding MWEB issues. MWEB guy perhaps you can confirm if the issues are linked which it would seem since the home and business accounts surely use the same infrastructure.

Good morning Narcoticj

Looking at these trace routes it certainly looks like there is congestion on your exchange.

Please tell me why the line improves when I turn on any P2P and why this only happens in the evenings after 23:30 and stops like clockwork in the mornings at 08:00? I've posted the traces from this morning and it's clearly not congested now during business hours? But somehow usage increases gradually from 22:00 to 00:00 and after that it becomes unusable?
P2P speeds remain unaffected by latency then?

Still disconnecting. The internet connection light goes off on my modem so its not my pc.
